I would never go to this restaurant again. We went as a group of four for a quick evening meal on a Saturday night. The restaurant was not particularly busy but the service was really slow: it took over 30 minutes to get a drink and over an hour to get served stews and fried food. A third of what we initially ordered was missing cutlery arrived 5 minutes after our food and some of the side dishes arrived after we had finished eating. The actual food when it arrived was tasty but not good enough for a repeat visit.
Great authentic Caribbean food however the service was terrible. We waited nearly an hour for our food without any one coming to explain it was on its way or sorry for the delay. Our starters came with our mains. We didn't have cutlery and the waiters were not attentive and didn't ask if we needed any more drink, or how our meal was etc. Some of our order was missing and when we did get the attention of our waitress she didn't apologise she left and never came back to say it was on its way. We never did get the missing order. Such a shame as the food is just brilliant, the Western Chicken Curry was a winner as were the Jamaican patties. Such a shame it was dampened by the bad service.
I normally love Caribbean food, but this was a solid disappointment I visited Reggas earlier this afternoon and opted for their 2 course lunch offer. The starter Jerk Chicken Wings was pretty mediocre - not remotely authentic and tasted like something you'd get in the frozen section in Iceland. I decided on the Goat Curry for my main, which although a slight improvement on the former and well presented was pretty bland. It lacked any depth of flavour or the real kick that you'd expect from one of the corner stones of Caribbean cuisine. The service wasn't great either
Excellent food. I've been here a number of times over the past 2 years and it never disappoints. The lamb chop stew is probably my favourite.
Went in for lunch and opted for boneless Jerk Chicken, went for the Big portion, this is 2 chicken breasts, ordered lamb patties too, service could have been slightly better but the food, music and beer was superb, first time visiting Raggas and won't be our last, really good value for money!
Great food, i had lamb chop brown stew which tasted amazing. Would definitely go again and recommend to anyone
Excellent food great drinks fantastic, will definitely be on our favourite restaurant list 10 out of 10. Great alternative to Sunday roast.
