I was a little put off by the outside look because I thought it would be a church kitchen where old ladies could go and have a nice cup of tea. This, of course, is fine, but it's not the sort of place I'd expect to get great coffee. But, it turns out they do use speciality beans. My flat white was enjoyable. The breakfast and eggs Benedict were very good. Even the green garnish was tasty. The whole church is now a cafe so It has a lovely high ceiling and they integrate some original furniture making the atmosphere quite airy and spacious, which is lovely.
I really like the building. I wouldn’t say the staff were friendly but not really unfriendly either. Solid breakfast but far from the best I’ve had. Will forever stand by that greens have no place on a Full English, even a vegetarian one. The absence of plant-based bacon was felt, would’ve preferred that to halloumi, and fried egg to poached. Portion was decent which it should be as it wasn’t cheap. As pleasant as my experience was, my partner clearly had a much better time, and said that her club sandwich was the nicest she’s ever tasted. Will have to go back to try the cakes as they looked lovely.
Walk ins only but we didn’t have to wait on a bank holiday Monday morning.nGorgeous little cafe with plenty to choose from. We ordered Full English Hash Bowl and 1901 Breakfast Brioche. Really great food and coffee! Would visit again!
Incredibly friendly staff, great selection of food, drinks, and sweet treats, lovely atmosphere! We got the coconut smoothie, frappe, cranberry and brie toastie, and cinnamon swirl oats.
Cute coffee place in a cathedral that provides a unique atmosphere. We've been here for breakfast with our dog who was more than welcome with water bowls and treats hanging around for her. I had the vegan breakfast as I was keen to try the avocado on toast and added an egg which was poached to perfection. Not sure about the vegan sausages but I am not vegan so I am probably not the right person to review them but everything on my plate was thoroughly enjoyed with the mushrooms being my highlight. My partner got the eggs royal and he liked them too. The fruit scone was lovely and freshly prepared so make sure to try that too.
