Wow!nnVisited with family and expected much less than what I saw.nnWhat an amazing collection of nostalgic items spanning back through time.nnThe recreated Victorian shops were amazing, such a high level of detail. Add in the smells and sounds too and it was a sensory delight that took you back in time. I had to sit on the bench in the town square and just take it all in.nnLots of interactive parts too. Some that I probably missed as I didn't see the buttons until later in the tour. Too many other interesting things to look at.nnCafe was lovely, reasonable prices and incredibly friendly service. A delight!nnCannot forget the train... an entire train.. just there, mind blown!nnSeeing an original sign from my hometown 320 miles away was a nice surprise too!nnSo much care and attention to detail has gone into this entire experience. I loved the story behind its beginnings and how it has continued to thrive to this day. Long may it continue.
I would give this museum more than 5 stars if I could. The wonderful lady on the ticket desk was so friendly, and an absolute delight to chat to. You can tell the love, and time that the family have put into this museum is like no other. If you are interested in history, vintage or just fancy a quirky afternoon out, I highly recommend. I could have spent hours looking at everything, and it is quite possibly the most interesting positively chaotic experience I have had whilst being here in Devon, and if I find myself in the area again, I will definitely be returning.
Lovely place. Maze of little rooms and tucked away olden day items. Not a long walk round, prob about 90 mins but well worth a visit. 6 of us was about £65. Has a cafe and small gift shop.
If you're in this area it's a little hidden gem you'll be amazed what's inside staff are really Pleasant the joy to be there thank you it was a great time and if back in the area visit again. Gary
What a wonderful time capsule this place is.We could have spent so much more time here, rather than the 2-3 we actually did. It deserves another visit to see the things we didn't see the first time. If you love all things victoriana, ww1&ww2, then Bygones is an absolute MUST SEE. There is also a terrific little cafe about 3/4 of the way around done out like an old station tea room. Just brilliant worth more than 5stars.
