Story

An amazing family day out – climb the windmill, follow the trails, enjoy the rare vintage vehicles, old schoolroom and village shop, and find out how people lived in Burwell on the edge of the Fens.
Open 11am-5pm (last entry 4pm) Thurs, Sun & Bank Hol Mon from Easter to end of October.

Really wonderful experience! When you walk up, it looks like the museum is only the windmill and one old barn building, but it is deceptively expansive and comprehensive. We visited with two small children and there was much to keep them engaged. My expectations were completely surpassed and I would be happy to return!
Exceptional. It's great to have such an informative museum with great staff in our village. The amount of history of the fens and the village is impressive. This is a great place to take children.
Brilliant non expensive afternoon out. Even got to go up the Windmill.
Pleasant museum hidden in a Fen village. Well worth a visit. Parking for blue badge holders outside of the museum. Helpful staff and informative. Plenty to do and articles to peruse over.
Hidden gem. Lots to do for the kids with an activity centre with toys and colouring. Good value for basic drinks and food. The windmill is interesting and our young kids liked the museum's diatoms of farming life.
Well run local museum and well maintained mill. Nice tea room. Check opening times.
Great for an afternoon out whatever your age.
Good displays for local history and wsr time memories.
