The Burton Hotel Hereford is an attractively modernised coaching inn set in the heart of a small market town near the Welsh border. Situated on Offa's Dyke Long Distance Footpath, Kington is a natural centre for rambling, fishing, golf (ten courses within easy reach), pony trekking, castle hunting, paragliding, motor rally school, bellringing, family history courses, bird spotting - red kites, survival courses, rare plant safari ... or chilling out by the pool.

Didn't stay there but we booked a table and weren't disappointed, plenty of choices on the menu at competitive prices. Very good food and service was excellent. Hotel is a good mix of traditional and modern build that contains a wide range of facilities.
Wonderful stay for 2 nights in June, for these travelers from Canada. Our son was so happy with the pool and the deluxe room was spacious and well equipped. Emily was wonderful at breakfast, which was ample and delicious. Only comment is related to the pub/restaurant where we had dinner on both nights; food could be improved. But overall, our stay was excellent and we hope to return to this lovely town someday.
On early arrival it was lovely to be greeted and the room was ready.nShowed around the spa facilities and free of charge to guests, also was invited to use anytime after checkout.nThe room was clean and tidy, peaceful, comfortable bed and was very good value.nBreakfast in the morning had a good range of continental, cereals and cooked selection.nnUsing the pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, showers all working and had no problems to relax and switch off.nIt was lovely to have time away for few hours in the spa. Well worth it.nnThe town of Kington is a delightful friendly, safe town to walk around, with such a range of independent shops, so welcoming and fairly enjoyed getting to know the locals a little talking.nThe gift shop of Bopsoms Emporium is worth a visit. For Gifts.nnI can expect the last few years has been hard on the hotel and town, but are recovering through Covid times, the rooms are very well maintained, but does need renovation in next 5 years, which will give it a justified boost.nI have no complaints in staying here again and on cloud 9.nnI will return again. And wish all the best for them, until next time xx
When we went at the start of the season it felt like it was not fully open most of the staff were friendly but never seemed to get the breakfast order right .nThe swimming pool was great a welcome addition after a day exploring the antique shops in Leominster.nOverall we had a good visit and would stay again.
We visited the pub/bar every day while staying at a b&b in Kington. Super friendly service and great food and beer.
