Basic, affordable and pleasant staff but the service isn't quite there yet. A few mistakes in our orders and the salad was not restaurant quality and thrown together without any thought. Burgers were ok, was warned off ordering the fish though! The best thing on the menu is the sweet sticky glazed honey wings or buffalo cauliflower wings which I would give 4 stars. Desserts were good as well, made fresh on site. Really cheap though £25 each for 3 course dinner and some soft drinks.
They really need to improve on the timing and service. My friend and I had the same starter but they arrived 20 minutes apart. Main courses took over 60 minutes. I’ve been twice now and it has been the same long wait both times. Both times whilst the restaurant was fairly quiet. I must be honest and say I was really close to walking out on the second occasion. On to the positives. The food is lovely. Scallops starter is one of my favourite starters I’ve ever had and worth the visit alone. The burgers are delicious, well thought out and prepared. Once you are eating you are extremely happy. Have not ordered dessert yet as we didn’t want another long wait... I hope the serving time can be improved.
Went here with my partner and the wait time was horrific. The starters weren't served at the same time, and once the burgers arrived the meat was incredibly sinewy and chewy. The manager did apologise and contact the supplier while we were there after admitting that we were not the only customers to complain about the neat. We were only charged for the starters and not the mains and were also given a discount for 20% should we return. However the service, as well as the supply of meat needs to be significantly improved first. Such a shame as it looks like a lot of money has been spent on the aesthetics of the restaurant.
This relatively new place has promise but needs to adjust the way they cook burgers if they’re to thrive. I was told their policy is to cook no less than medium well. The meat they use is too lean for this and the result is a rock hard burger with little flavour. A restaurant with “burger” in the name should really provide a choice of a medium rare burger, or failing that use much less lean meat to provide more of the “five guys” type of burger experience. In comparison, even the chain store Byron can deliver a properly cooked and appealing patty, albeit with a warning from the staff. Why am I going on about this? Because it’s not a lost cause. I hope they adjust as the service was good and friendly and the ingredients were good quality. The spicy chicken wings more Thai style than buffalo style appetiser was good. But not recommended at this time.
The burger burger lux was great, very tasteful and big portions in everything we've ordered. It was also quite inexpensive cosidering the location. Service was average no card payments due to a malfunction, meals being served quite delayed, might be due to the fact that's it's newly opened and could find its pace later on.
One of the best burgers in London. The meat and all other ingredients are of the highest quality, even the salad. The secret sauce is absolutely divine. Service was very friendly and portions are very generous. We will be back!
Live really locally and both had the steak and fries - we really enjoyed it! Hubby ordered a cosmo and the owner felt the glasses were too small and bless her gave him two! We'd def return and looking forward to trying breakfast!
BurgerLux is a pretty new restaurant situated on the famous Upper Street in Islington. We got there quite early and was surprised to be the only people there. There burger was very nice and chunky, it had that nice grill flavour. The other half had a whole Chicken Bbq Hickory flavour, which was presented very nice but was a bit bland and dry for my liking. The restaurant has very nice decor.
One of the best burgers I've had in London. Very fresh, good quality ingredients. I noticed the salad was also very fresh - it had good flavour - which is unfortunately hard to find even in London.
Was just visiting the area for the day & walked in by chance. Good valued kids menu, which our kids ate. My wife & I shared the nachos for starter followed by two Old School Cheese burgers- all was very tasty. Good value for money. If ever in the area again, I would eat here.
