We only popped in for food so can't comment on the rooms, the food portions are huge but mu burgers were overdone but my dog was happy as he ate half. My wife's gammon was at least an inch thick and she loved it, it came with chunky chips which she normally doesn't like but enjoyed these where mine came with enough fries for 2 and were really nice. The staff were all friendly with new owners by all accounts but I can't confirm that. We had actually checked the room prices out for next year's before we even knew we were visiting and are quite good compared to other ones we also checked. So, 2 meals, 2 glasses of rose and a non alcoholic lager came to £40.80 or thereabouts, good value we thought. Sorry for the pics of the gents but you have to admit, these are a great use for old barrels
The food, and portions of it were mediocre in taste at best, one serving was requested rare steak, it came in as medium, it was requested to be replaced, and the server offered to cook it some more???, Irish Coffee that had either little or no whiskey in it, the only reason that 2 stars were given was because of the desert. Rather worryingly a conversation i’ve just had with my mother, was that she saw the person in the kitchen grab hold of the chips by hand, NO GLOVES or anything to put onto the plate, now if the one member of our group who is autistic and adhd had seen this, we would have had major problems because he hates anyone else handling his food by hand. Sorry but i would not recommend this place to anyone, for the amount we spent, the food did not match the price
Walking up to our room the carpet on the stairs and landing was filthy ,the room was basic . There was no wardrobe just a rack on the wall with four coat hangers . The vertical blinds had the centre panel missing and the the curtains were too thin to keep the light out . The breakfast was mediocre with few choices of cereal there was no fruit or yogurts and twice I had to find the cook to ask for items missing from the table and both times she was to be found outside having a cigarette break . We were booked in for four nights but left after two . Definitely, definitely won't be back.
A very freindly pub serving realy nice food would go againService: 4/5
We went for the carvery. Absolutely stunning and a decent price too.Rooms: 5/5
Had dinner here on Saturday evening whilst staying on the island. Lovely restaurant. Excellent food choices. Well presented and staff were all very attentive and made our evening special.Service: 5/5
Really good. We went to the all you can eat curry night. 4 curries to chose from. The korma was nice, like pulled chicken korma, my favourite was the prawn goan curry.
This review relates to Sunday lunch. We did not stay so does not reflect on the rooms etc. Having said that, its was a very poor carvery. Ive tried to think of a positive but cant. The best I can say is the turkey was ok. Veg was awful. There was no service of note.Service: 1/5
We stayed last night at the bull and will definitely return. The room was lovely had and very comfortable, I usually have trouble sleeping while I'm away but had the best sleep here. The pub was open and busy but we didn't hear much noise in room 9. The staff were really friendly and helpful, food was gorgeous compliments to the chef!! The pub is dog friendly meaning our little pup could tag along and she loved every second of the fuss she got from everyone. Locals were all welcoming. Breakfast was excellent and well organised, the guy serving us was very attentive and looked after us very well, even brought the dog a sausage out with our food which was a nice touch. Next time we're in Anglesey we'll definitely be staying here. Thanks for having us!
Good food at reasonable prices. Staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely return there.
