Best vet around, when both of my cats needed to be put to sleep they were so gentle and caring. They put up a sign at reception to let people know we were saying goodbye and gave us a condolence card with their fur and paw prints. It’s great having a vet that cares so much more than treating us like customers. Added are my photos of Sweep and Sterling who passed recently and were so well taken care of.
I would not recommend buchan vets. They stopped seeing my dog before he sadly passed away because i couldnt pay the bill in full and asked to pay it up as was a single mum not working. So they wouldnt see my dog. So when he became really ill i took him to them through an appointment that was clearly grudged to be told he was very ill and had to be put to sleep. They kept my dog in a freezer for almost 2 weeks before picked up to be cremated because they wanted the bill paid first. So i had to find the money to pay to get my baby boy home quicker!! Hes home now with his mummy but the way they were was disgusting and wouldnt advise anyone to ever use buchan vets.
I really can't get my head round their mark up on tablets for my dog, my dog regularly needs Apoquel for his allergies, if I get 15 tablets from the vet it costs me nearly £70, plus they slap a consultant fee on top of that as well. I can buy these tablets with prescription online for £29. The vets will also charge you a further £24 for a prescriptions which only covers you for 3 months so you have to keep going back for new prescriptions that cost £24 a time,.
I would NOT recommend Buchan vets.nnAfter being a client with them for my small animals for what may be approaching 20 years, my dog was failed by them when he needed their service the most.nnBe aware that Buchan DO NOT offer call-outs from their small animal practice to euthanise any animals in distress.nnMy 40kg Rottweiler had lost the ability to use his back legs properly and when he suddenly declined in mobility I was refused assistance when he needed it the most. Unable to carry and transport him into the practice I was left in an extremely distressing and difficult situation with no solution from Buchan.nnThankfully I have my equines registered at a different practice, and although my dogs weren’t registered with them and despite them having a waiting list, when I called them out of desperation to explain the situation they were not hesitant to step in and assist.
Absolutely useless. My cat sat dead in there freezer for 9 days without bothering to contact me! All his microchip info was up to date and none of the staff could give me an answer to why they never got in touch.
