Went to Brown's Victoria yesterday New Year's Eve it was very busy, but they managed to find us a table for 6 which was amazing. However, they didn't tell me that they were only serving a 'festive' menu at a heavily marked up price. Oh well, the food was good and we had a good time, so that's all that really matters. I have been to many different Brown's over the years & Victoria didn't disappoint.
Luxurious insides and underwhelming food, drinks and service. We loved the menu and the place looked neat, classic and promising when we first entered. Once there a waiter took our order and asked us what drinks we wished. Went ahead and brought us the drink straight away; given that the place was almost empty we thought that the food would follow straight away. It took exactly one hour and 15 minutes to be ready and the drinks we meant to enjoy with the food weren’t even lukewarm. Not only that all the bread we had wasn’t toasted and very stale and cold. Portions were on the stingy side and everything seemed not properly seasoned and was lacking in flavour. Other than the vegetarian full English the other dishes were absolutely disappointing and tiny. Given the location and the well known place I would’ve expected more. The bill was extremely salty for the amount of food we had and when the server saw the amount of food we left they asked us if there was a problem with the food and we just said that it was cold and looked not made with care and straight away unfortunately. They said to us that it wasn’t the case and everything is made fresh straight away and topped everything with just a smile and said bye to us. I don’t expect anything more from a staff member of a restaurant with disappointing quality food, the staff would definitely be on the same lever unfortunately. 1/10 Save your money and avoid!
My sister and I went here yesterday for lunch. We didn't book but still managed to get a table. The waiter was so friendly and professional. I Loved the interior and how spacious and clean it was inside. For starters we ordered the chicken skewers to share but we found it a bit too dry for us, so we couldn't finish it. The main I ordered the fish and chips, and a side of onion rings which I really enjoyed. The fish was nice and flaky as it should be the chips just right i devoured it. The dish was served with mushy peas and tartar sauce. My sister ordered the butternut squash curry which was served with rice and she also really enjoyed it. We didn't order afters we were too full. We would definitely dine here again. The price we found to be reasonable.
We had a lovely dinner here before a theatre show. Jay, our waiter was so polite, kind and helpful. His service was 'perfect' according to our children who kept remarking on how nice he was to us all. Children's menu was good. Delicious a LA carte menu too, hard to choose but went with the fillet steak and scallops which were really good!! Also recommend the almond&apricot sour from the cocktail menu. A lovely experience, we will be back! Kid-friendliness: Our waiter Jay made the girls feel really comfortable and was very attentive to their needs.
I Love coming to Browns—Victoria! It has become a tradition for me now every time I visit London. The Food is amazing and the drink selection is Impeccable—Even down to their Browns specialty sodas! It is always great seeing familiar faces every time I arrive here! Especially great to see Nikos again! His service is beyond superb! If you are lucky to receive service from Nikos, just know you’re in for fine dining at its best! -Justin
Thank you very much to Vida for her welcome and her smile, we were able to have a magnificient improvised New Year's meal in London in a great atmosphère abd the quality of the services and dishes !! Thank you Vida for your générosity and natural empathy ! Thank you to the entre Browns team !
We enjoyed our experience today with my friends. The food was lovely and very tasty. The service was excellent and there to help with everything. The salmon was nicely cooked and the cheese with the warm bread as well... the best part was the dessert. I highly recommend the salted caramel profiteroles and the dark chocolate bombe. I'll go back again for sure
Nice enough place, going for a more upmarket vibe. Vodka lime and soda was under £6 which was great. Big windows facing out into the courtyard/thoroughfare so can do a bit of people watching in the warmth. Not the fastest service at the bar.Service: 3/5
The Traditional Fish & Chips were delightful, but served rather cold. 4/5 The Prawn & Devon Crab Linguine was bland and also somewhat cold. The 10oz ribeye was amazing, 11/10. There was no wait to be seated, the service was good. Great design and ambiance with beautiful plating. Dietary restrictions: The menu clearly states allergens, and the servers will ask if you have any sensitivities/allergies before you order. Signage is posted with info on allergens on the first floor.
Visited Brown's Victoria before going to the theatre. Lovely service from Stephanie. The food main was tasty, hot and arrived in good time. Pudding was nice, although I should have gone for the profiteroles and not the Eton mess. The Raspberry daiquiri went down so well, I had 2!Food: 5/5
