SERVICE= Mixed (we had 2 waiters, the guy was great, very helpful. - the girl was awkward and rude, she huffed and puffed when we spoke to her). FOOD= was OK, small portions and i'm not a big eater. PRICE= not worth the high price. OVERALL 3/5 probably wont return here.

We stopped at Browns for their breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised as we generally don't like to eat at corporate or chain restaurants - they never quite get that home-cooked or niche feel - this was different. We ordered a full English breakfast, and eggs royale. Neither of us had any complaints about the food, in actual fact we quite enjoyed it. The salmon tasted fresh and the poached egg was the perfect accompaniment especially when you first cut into the egg and the yolk runs onto the salmon - a tasty treat. The English breakfast went down well. I asked to exchange the black pudding for a sausage was told not they are not allowed. I then asked for bacon and told the same (come on guys it's not cutting into the profits - it's good customer service) they eventually let me swap for an extra egg. Everything was quite good and had the usual hallmarks of a good English breakfast. The sausage had a slight herby flavour and the bacon cooked perfectly. The eggs although runny were a little hard underneath. We were there quite early so there were not too many people, it took a while to receive our breakfast. Our waitress after warming up turns out to be a lovely person with a real passion for food Brown's do not take the tips for themselves and they are shared out amongst the staff - it's always worth asking. We would eat breakfast at Brown's again.

Not even worthy of 1 star! Went with family for my birthday. Food was very disappointing indeed! Quite small portions. Their idea of garlic bread was a slice of toast and garlic butter which was dry and burnt. Steak that was ordered medium rare was well done to say the least. If you want your hunger satisfied then you must order a starter as portions are small....the children got served a bigger dinner than us!! The service was the biggest let down though. The waitress didn't smile once and was quite miserable. Had to wait ages for extra cutlery by which time dinner was almost cold. To top it off my family had arranged a surprise birthday cake for me and one of the staff came and asked me when I wanted them to bring it over!! Such a big let down and very over priced. The whole table didn't enjoy their meal!

Went in for breakfast over Xmas period and he eggs royale was delicious! Possibly the best I have ever had. Highly recommended.
