Crouch End is, at all times, a pleasant place to shop. But Broadway makes it better. The clothes are made from friendly, draping, comfortable fabrics, intelligently designed to look good without effort. I pop in every two or three months to take a look at new lines and there is never a time when they disappoint; I never emerge without wanting some garment, (or more than one) passionately. I have never regretted a purchase. The people who run the shop offer careful, honest advice and opinions and go out of their way to find you what you want and, most astonishingly in London, they remember one and one's interests and news. The clothes aren't cheap, but they are very very nicely made, and certainly not as dear as some less stylish, slung -together stuff, one can buy elsewhere. I'd sum up the whole experience by saying that I arrive home with clothes which make me feel better about myself - for months and months afterward. Ok, yes, it's my favourite shop in London.
