I was really disappointed to turn up here before 5pm on a Sunday to find it shut. The lady came to the door and talked to me and told me the hours are wrong on Google. You really need to make sure they are correct as I could have been in before they closed but I came to them last as google said 5pm
Some of the stuff in there is decent, but you have to examine the clothing carefully! I recently bought a skirt for £6.50, and discovered that it had holes in the bottom that looked as if someone had dragged a razor across it. I get that the clothing is second-hand, so there might be some wear, but not damage like that that I only notice later on. I had already taken the tag off, so I don't think I'm eligible for a refund. Buyer beware!
Generally over priced. Bought some jeans, to only get home and find marks all over them. Very disappointed. Please check the items before putting them out for people. They are ruined.
Very nice shop and the employees are lovely and very helpful! Found some really cute bits! Will be visiting again soon
I decided to volunteer my time here to this charity as it means quite a lot to me. Maybe it’s my philanthropist or charitable idealist mindset - I had high hopes to make a direct contribution to the cause. Unfortunately though, it became an experience which you can really get at any retail store. Nothing worthwhile. At one point the manager at the time who is more than likely getting paid a substantial amount was telling us in a dictatorial manner on what tasks needed to be done, and to what personal standard. There were a lot of us behind in the stockroom area pretty much toiling away doing boring mundane jobs for free. It’s not the fact we were not getting paid and the managers etc were or even doing the boring tasks. It was the belief that all of us volunteered for nothing to make a valuable priceless contribution to the charity. We all wanted to make a difference to lives. But seeing we were being wasted and the top personnel were getting paid from the donations that people like me with good intentions have been giving. You kind of look at the bigger picture and become disillusioned with the whole concept of charity and volunteering. It’s essentially a business model taking advantage of people’s goodwill and using them as slaves, while those at the top get a lucrative kitty for them to use on any day - rainy or sunny. I didn’t stick for long, maybe a week before I made the call to leave. This was a corporate operation, rather than anything to do with the heart.
Came at 4 pm and here says work till 5 pm but it was closed! Disappointed
They always have lovely staff on. I have been here many times and bought very good books and toys for my daughter. You can find things worth buying any time you enter the shop.
Lovely shop BUT my mother and I just had an awful experience with shop 'helpers' in what can only be described as blatant racial discrimination. Will be reporting to head office ... when I can get through...
Great bargain shop with clean feel and great staff! Spanish manager is also funny and saw her helping an elderly.. great place overall
Very well stocked , clean shop with pleasant volunteers However, the shop manager lady is not nice, with a very harsh/rough attitude, it's shame ....
