Britannia Gurkha is a typical Nepalese restaurant just outside the town centre. I went there for dinner (I am not sure it's open for lunch) and that was my first time with this cusine. They were very kind and the service was fast, tables were clean. There is a set menu, with some typical thin bread made of potatoes as a starter. Then some lamb and potatoes, and I've to say the meat was very good. After that, some chicken curry, lentil soup, beef and vegetables served with steamed rice and another type of delicious bread. Everything was very good! Finally, a chocolate cake as dessert. I also tried their Gurkha beer, which I found to be very particular and tasteful. I highly recommend the Britannia Gurkha!

We were an unbooked seating of 9 but they managed to fit us in. We went for the random selection instead of ordering individually to speed things along. Wow. Cold and hot starters, the mains were amazing - most of us were too full to have desert. The costs were very reasonable.

Excellent food in a cosy environment. The menu is set based on what the chef is cooking that day, however with notice they are able to accommodate dietary requirements such as vegan and vegetarian. On the day I visited as part of a group, there was Lamb curry and chicken curry which were both delicious and aromatic without being spicy. Table service was faultless, nothing was too much trouble, highly recommended.

Very good food - set menu that is well chosen to appeal to everyone. Good local ales to accompany and exceptionally good service from all the people working to make this restaurant/ pub such a great place to visit.

Still a great place. Suffered a while back with a change of chef but back to strength now...well worth a visit.
