Me and my partner stayed here for a night as we went away for the weekend of good food and outings. We chose this hotel for its decent price given the last minute nature of our trip and wanting to be located rather central in the heart of Bristol.nnThe staff are okay. Welcoming and as expected. The rooms are mid. Just thankful we had a bed and bathroom given the nature of our trip. However, the cleanliness was dreadful to be honest. There was a toothbrush packet in the bin already, do they not get cleaned?nThen, on entry, we had glasses with a coaster advising “enjoy your complimentary water” which was something we did not receive - however, the staff provided us a free water bottle to compensate for this so it was appreciated.nnWe were happy to have a room with our time away but this hotel should not be claiming 4 star standard. Lack of cleanliness and hygiene, the misleading water situation and the half used products do not convey 4 star service.
I stayed at this hotel for a family reunion event closeby. The location was great and the main attractions were all within walking distance. The room was spacious. Overall it was a 5-star experience especially the service level which was outstanding.nnA special thank you to the hotel supervisor Victoria and auditor Umar who assisted me to locate my passport. They both were so helpful and had done above and beyond their duties. You have made my stay in Bristol a wonderful experience. Thank you again for everything!
Went for a work evening do in their corporate events space and stayed for the night. Room was comfortable and clean, staff were attentive, the free pretzels in the bar were a nice touch, £12 for a mocktail felt a little pricy.nnFood at the event was good and my gluten issues were well catered for, shame the pudding was changed without notice.nnBreakfast was good in the morning by far one of the largest Continental selections I have seen in a hotel, hot selection was good and aligery information was displayed well. I had the offer of gluten free toast and my own butter which was great.nnReception staff were great and checkout was seamless.nnIf I had to stay in Bristol again this would be a great option.nnOnly two things that let it down are the website which does not have the correct information and recommends you go off site for food when they do serve food there, also the horrid NCP next door which is expensive / generally disgusting.
Location is no good for families. The park nearby is basically a massive drugs den stinking of marijuana throughout in good weather. Not the hotel's fault but they should let the authorities know it's preventing guests with children from returning, and anyway the review is about whether you should stay or not. The bridge to the park is closed anyway. Otherwise it's a so-so 4* hotel with no surprises, but the main saving grace is the staff: they've all been wonderful and really lift the mood in this place.
This Marriot Group hotel is located in a city centre location but we wouldn’t stay again for a few reasons.nThe hotel does not have a car park of its own and guests are directed to the adjacent NCP car park at a discounted rate - £17 a daynAs we arrived, a serious assault occurred across the road which caused chaos, obviously not the hotels fault but didn’t give the best impression of the area.nWe are Bonvoy Elite members which should have given us certain benefits but we had to repeatedly ask for them over two days but even then we didn’t get what our membership entitles us to.nThere was an electrical issue in the room which again we had to report three times over two days before maintenance came and housekeeping just didn’t show up until yet again we had to chase the manager. Not what should be expected at a Marriot.nWe were at a military reunion function including a gala dinner and I think the chef just couldn’t be bothered to come up with an imaginative menu; Tomato and Basil soup or chicken salad, grilled chicken or fish, fruit tart. Budget airline quality.nBristol itself was scruffy, litter strewn everywhere and an overpowering smell of cannabis was everywhere.nThere are better Marriots in the area and are better options than the Delta.
