For a four star hotel the bed was really uncomfortable. I would have had a better night's sleep in a less rated hotel.nLights for room very dark.nNo bin in the living space only in bathroom.nWindows single glazed.nWe had the air con units right outside our window and was consistently woken throughout the night by glass bins being emptied and some sort of constructuon work. If you know this room is noisey then ear plugs should be supplied. Walls are paper thin so next door shouted most of the evening.nBreakfast was cold and the juice was warmer than the coffee. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
I had a disappointing stay at this hotel back in August. I upgraded to a suite with extended checkout so I could work from the room, as the air conditioning was broken at the Bristol office I was visiting. However, upon arrival, I discovered the air conditioning in the hotel wasn't working either, which was incredibly frustrating. It seems this issue had been known prior to my stay, but I wasn't informed.nnOver two days, I experienced considerable discomfort and left earlier than planned, not getting the benefit of the late checkout upgrade. Despite informing the hotel that I would be working from the room, I was disturbed multiple times by housekeeping and maintenance, with one entering my room without knocking while I was on an important Teams call. Clearly, their system for handling late checkouts is broken.nnWhile the staff were apologetic and did assist me with an HDMI cable and chair, the overall experience was poor. I reached out to management twice about this situation, but I've received no response to my concerns. Given the lack of follow-up, I cannot recommend this hotel based on my experience.
Very central hotel within old city centre so all main attraction are walking distance. Has parking but costs £17 for overnight stay. Breakfast is ok.nReception does not look at all like that of a Grand Hotel! More like two improvised desks next to a pub like area.nIt might have been a Gran Hotel in the past building is clearly an historical one and very big but it needs proper renovation/refurbishing inside and new facilities to keep up to this name!
Beautifully calm, clean and central. Only stayed for one night, but have saved this one for future Bristol trips definitely one to treat my husband too for a romantic trip away!nnThe staff were all really friendly and welcoming. Thank you.
My husband and I spent an amazing week here while we helped our daughter move into her flat and get ready to attend Uni. Every staff member we encountered was courteous and helpful. In particular, Daniel, at the front desk, went out of his way to help us with a last minute check-in. We had had a particularly difficult day, having planned to stay at a Airbnb property that was a complete disaster on our arrival. Daniel welcomed us cheerfully and helped us to settle seamlessly as he provided us a complimentary room upgrade and drinks. We will definitely be staying here again when we return to visit our daughter!
