Nice place to sit and have a coffee

Dropped in for a wee coffee and a scone and found the place warm and friendly. Bookmarked it for my next visit to the area.

Went there last night for a meal. My only complaint was that the atmosphere was lacking, but it was a Monday night at the beginning of January, so that couldn't be helped much. The staff were very helpful, polite and attentive. (If I was to be really, really picky, we topped our own glasses up for the night...but I'm not, so it didn't affect the mark!) Depsite the fact it was a glum and cold Monday, they were very upbeat and couldn't do enough for you. The smaller things you look for in a restaurant where you pay good money were all present and correct: the table clothes were crisp, the glasses and cutlery polished - I noticed that even the chef's whites were completely immaculate when he popped out to have a word with the waiter. All of this of course isn't conducive to a great meal, however it does add to the overall feeling that things are well looked after and I feel that enhances the overall experience. And as for the food...delicious!! The presentation was fabulous, but that aside - it tasted absolutely divine. It is on the pricey side, but as they say, you get what you pay for. I had fresh crab spring rolls with a spicy mango salsa which was delicious, and I had a steak for afters which was a real treat for me, as I don't eat much meat at all. And I wasn't disappointed! It was cooked and seasoned to absolute perfection, and the side dishes we ordered were each as delicious as the other. All of this was washed down with a lovely bottle of red, and we left feeling very full and very content. I highly recommend you go!
