Came for late dinner with my partner and enjoyed a very well cooked steak. Food was lovely and hot, desserts were delicious and service from our waiter Alfie was amazing, he was very attentative and no ask was too much. We look forward to our next visit, thank you so much.
Lovely place to have Sunday lunch, with the family including the dogs Dogs have their own menu, which they really enjoyed. Our food was fantastic too
A return trip to the Bridgewater Arms. We were seated in the large dining room to the rear of the pub, which was lovely. The only downside I would say is our table for 4 was quite literally right by the kitchen doors, so the staff were forever walking past us. Selection of food was very good and portions were the same. The cauliflower cheese was more cauli than cheese, you needed to hunt for this! The drinks were slower than normal coming out and probably a couple more waiting staff would be useful, hence the four stars instead of 5. But we will return again.
This is a great place to eat after a walk. We had an excellent 3 course Christmas dinner with a good selection of wines and beers. Christmas crackers included. The only problem was that they were short staffed on the day we visited, but not a problem as we had no time constraints.
I visited with my wife and two children today. The service we extremely good. We were greeted at the door and given a nice table by the window and a high chair was provided for our 6 month old. Our drinks orders were taken quickly but we were allowed space to choose our food. All our orders came quickly and tasted great. I've seen complaints, but you have to remember this is a Greene King pub and not "fine dining." It was better than I expected. Our little one made a mess but the kind and charismatic staff wouldn't allow us to clear it up, they said they would sort it. My only regret is we didn't have any cash to leave a tip. We will visit again though, so there is always next time.
Went for a meal with grandparents so 7 of us in total. Simple to book online, no problem with us being slightly late. It's standard pub food- in the sense it isn't trying to be fancy and be overpriced gastro-nonsense, but a decent range of pub meals at a reasonable price. We went on a Sunday so most of us had the Sunday roast option and no problems reported! They also had the full menu range available too. Kids puddings of particular note were generous in proportion. I was the driver so can't comment on the drinks range! It's quite a big venue and there was no problem fitting 7 of us in. Ideal location for exploring the footpaths around Ashridge albeit the car park is quite limited in size and ANPR controlled so I'm not sure if using it as a base for a whole day would be particularly fair. Would be happy to go again.
Nice place to have a meal out the way of the local pubs. Food is not bad and not over priced, could do with a little more on the plate. It can get quite busy on the weekend so go early if you're going to sit by the bar for food.
Really lovely experience and a fantastic team that couldn’t do enough for us. Absolutely would recommend coming here for great food and a great atmosphere.
Cute pub, pet friendly. Cosy fireplace and parking across the street. Food was very very average and the toilets were filthy.
Lovely dog friendly pub. Nice atmosphere and good pub grub. Regular visitors.
