Lakeside Restaurant is located just outside Aspatria, offering a warm and friendly welcome to Couples & Families, we serve a variety of homemade food.

Story

Our restaurant sources seasonal produce from Cumbria’s top suppliers. We pride ourselves on creating menus inspired by tradition but with a contemporary twist.

A warm welcome is guaranteed. We offer a friendly atmosphere in relaxing surroundings, with al fresco dining in the summer and cosy log fires in the winter.

Everything you eat at Lakeside is made on the premises. Our dedicated team of three local chefs take great pride in the food they prepare, using an abundance of local produce, serving traditional Cumberland fayre.

Love this place. As a family we usually go with our 2 kids a few times a year. A great place to switch off and relax, pour a glass of bubbly and get in the hot tub. Modern and classy lodges kept to a very high standard. And great food! If I was to make any negative comment it would be that check out is at 9am which makes it a bit of a rush. But other than that, it's perfect!
The farm shop by the golf course is incredible. Massive variety of local meats....we had 2 bbq's in a week just so we could make the most of the sun & their fabulous produce. Steaks cut to our specification. Amazing burgers, sausages, kebabs & lamb koftas. Lovely fresh veg. Deli coleslaw was fabulous & all so reasonably priced. Staff so friendly & helpful too.
Wow what a lovely break away. Staff made us feel very welcome. The lodge had most pots, pans. A little welcome pack, milk, bread, biscuits, butter and jam. Soap and cleaning items in the kitchen, bin bags, washing up liquid ect ect. The bathroom included towels, soap, body/bath wash, shampoo. The hot tub was so nice. It was cleaned each morning between 8-11. For us most days it was around 8.30-9 We visited the farm shop which had a few items like milk, Pringles ect ect but was more of a butcher shop. We had some delicious Scotch eggs. We didn't go into the restaurant but had some of the restaurant food delivered to our lodge which was very nice. I am glad the bed had a little stool to help me get in and out of it. The bedding was lovely, the duvet maybe a little too thick so at night it was very warm even with the heating turned down. Also a choice of pillows would have been nice. The ones we had were very soft. We stayed in a Sheration lodge. I have added the following comments to try and be helpful because these lodges are new. So hoping the feedback helps but non of these impacted our time here, we had a fantastic time away. Larger table in the lounge area, and more seating, plenty of space. Table would be great for playing board games. A notebook and pen. Welcome pack was great, maybe add some little packets of tomato sauce, mayo. We did have malt vinegar but that was all. We didn't have any cereal/ ice cream bowls, just pasta bowls. A plastic bowl would have been great to have for the microwave and some oven gloves would have also been helpful. Check out time a little early at 9am. Maybe it could be between 9-11 but with no use of the hot tub. I feel this would work better.
Spent a fabulous weekend with friends in a Wordsworth. Very clean and spacious, like a mini home from home. The weather was awful, but we chilled out in the covered Hottub which was so private. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. The food at The Lakeside restaurant was to die for. So delicious. The butchers onsite is a little gem and sells the produce used in the restaurant. All in all, its a super place and would love to go back in Sunmer to take advantage of the golf course and fishing lake.
Stunning lodges on a quiet holiday park. On site, 9 hole public golf course. On site restaurant good but limited opening, weds-Sun and they do lodge deliveries. Great farm shop/butcher's on site. Amazing place to relax and chill out. 2nd time here and will definitely be back again in future.
Loved it everything you needed it was home away from home my granddaughter loved the ducks visiting everyday. Definitely be going back so relaxed and chilled wish we was still there
Second last night and sad to be leaving for sure. I will definitely be back! Not only are the Lodges immaculately clean they are well equipped with everything you need, literally never wished or wanted for anything. There is a restaurant and butcher shop on site which are both amazing. The Lodges are separated well from the neighbouring Lodges and there is even grass mounds surrounding the Lodges to ensure complete privacy. Everything has been thought of well. I chose the Darwin which has a hot tub, sauna and steam room!
The lodges are absolutely stunning. We stayed in the Darwin for 4 nights and it had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay plus the added luxuries of a hot tub, steam room and sauna. There is an on-site restaurant and takeaway service which is open Wednesday to Sunday. We ordered the takeaway one night and ate in the restaurant twice. All the food was lovely and the service was very good. Finally there is a butchers shop which has just opened. This is very handy for essentials whilst staying on the park but also had a good selection of meats and fresh veg.
Absolutely fabulous break. Beautiful lodges. Really private. Best ones we've ever been to. Amazing service from all the friendly staff. Lovely breakfasts, very accomodating to our son's eating issues. Couldn't have asked for more. We'll definitely be back.
Very well stocked shop with butchers, a good selection of meat available. Very good quality and good price and good advice from the butcher about the local products.
