Big portions of proper good pub food. Good selection. All ingredients fresh and sourced locally. Friendly landlady and staff. Has a resteraunt section and also a "bar" section. You can eat in both. Big portions of puddings. See photo. Nice selection of ales too. Parking: 2 car parks. Opposite sides of the road. Wheelchair accessibility: Flat entrance no steps
Great food, real people, no frills or pomp never once been able to order pudding due to the farmer portions sizes but always leave satisfied.Food: 5/5
Not a place if you're weight watching or counting calories!!!!. Popped in on a blustery snowy day during our holiday. Only an 8 minute drive from where we were staying. Typical olde world pub with very welcoming staff. We ordered our drinks then taken to a table and given menus to look at. There was a good selection and also a specials board. Opted for a starters of Chinese spare ribs and prawn cocktail. When they arrived they were huge!! Made us wonder if we'd manage to eat our mains. Both were very delicious, and we couldn't eat the bread and butter that also came with the prawns. Mains were steak and kidney pie and seabass. Plenty of food for 4 people!! Needless to say we couldn't finish it all. A nice selection of on tap beer and cider rounded it off. Needless to say the rest of our day was spent digesting!!!! Highly recommended. Parking just outside the place or across the road, Take care as it's on a main road Will definitely visit again. Was informed that they do takeaways as well.
Wow what can I say... lovely place staff are sooooo welcoming and friendly. Food was really tastey but portions are massive and I mean massive. Defo worth a vist and it wasn't that dear Parking: Parking room in front of the building and I'm sure there is more across the road
Been comming here since i can remember over 20 years!! Love the food homemade big amounts prise good . . Clean . . Brilliant staff . . If you not been then why??? We love it!!!
The Sun @ Red DIAL Wigton is a family run pub which caters for people who love their grub. The beer is kept well and a good selection. Food is freshly cooked and served. I've never had a disappointing meal here. I had a 10 oz Rib Eye cooked exactly as I ordered with fresh vegetables £18.95 sixty quid in London. My wife had a superbly cooked trio of Lamb Chops. We have a very good butcher in Wigton and he was there with his family and a number of farming families. What better recommendation. Best to book at weekends.
"FANTASTIC FOOD" Always heard great things about this place, and I can confirm, from our first visit to this brilliant place, that all of the good recommendations are well and truly accurate. From the huge variety of options on the menu, too the huge portions and friendly staff, make this establishment one of the best places to eat and a must to visit.

The food here is excellent. The staff are excellent and very helpful and accommodating for requests. Very polite both behind the bar and the waitresses. We were visiting with 17 people adults and kids. Kids meals were delivered with starters as requested and were bigger than you would think for a kids meal.... therefore no complaints there. Mix of starters from menu and special board all arrived freshly cooked and everyone was sharing how good they were..... and then we got hit with the mains.... What a service and food quality....one of the best places I have been to. Mains arrived and then separately there was a mixed veg platter and a home cooked chips platter to share between people....and was more than enough for all 17... this place should be on anyone's stop within the area.... and if visiting again... would drive here... even from the coast... this is marked as a favourite in everyone's map apps. Vegetarian options: There was a selection on the specials board as well as the menu. Parking: 2 parking areas available. One in front of the building and another bigger dedicated parking area across the road. Kid-friendliness: We had 7 kids and very friendly when serving the kids. Also a separate games room that was no issues for our kids to be in. Wheelchair accessibility: The front door was level of the parking area.
