Please tell me why this pharmacy is not open before people have to go to work/school. It's not exactly user friendly - people do get sick before 9am. Convenience for whom - the staff or the people they are supposed to be offering a service to!

Some of the staff at this Boots are not particularly that polite, and often are very slow and in the end get things wrong. Some staff training I think may be in order.

These guys are usually so friendly that I have cut them some slack before but today was the last straw. For the past three iterations of a certain repeat script (which I have been getting from this pharmacy for nearly 10 yrs), they have offered to take care of the repeat - even showed me the system and a) the date they would put in the repeat request to the GPs, and b) the date they would order in the meds. EACH TIME I noticed I was running low on the meds so I popped in to ensure that the process was kicking in... and EACH TIME I was told "er, no. sorry, for some reason we don't have you down". So this last time I had about 3 days of pills left so asked them to sort out what they said they were going to do originally. After the weekend: "Oh, sorry, that order didn't go through, I don't know why *giggle*". So they put the order in and I had to go a couple of days of discomfort while it was processed. Rocked up 2 days later. "Yes, the script is back from the docs but we will have to order that medicine in as we don't normally stock it". What, medicine I have been picking up from this chemist every 2 months for a decade, and which you knew a week ago I needed, and were reminded again 2 days ago..?? THAT medicine?? Christ on a bike. And today, turning up with quite a large prescription, the nature of which, even to the untrained eye (let alone a qualified pharmacist), is very obviously urgent, I wait 20 minutes to be told that one of the (extraordinarily urgent) items isn't in stock as it's quite unusual and will need to be ordered (although, oddly, they gave me a note a few months ago with this med's precursor to say that that item was being replaced by this new med... which they don't actually stock, it appears. Champion!). I told them that it's important - avoiding me going to A&E kinda important - and they said that it would take them ages to unpack and unlabel the other items so they could release the script and I would have to get to the back of a now extremely long queue.... so I suggested that it might be a good idea to warn me before packing and labelling the rest of the script that a crucial part couldn't be fulfilled, thereby giving me the option to go to another pharmacy. The response was identical to that received when I have reasonably and patiently pointed out before that their systems could do with a rethink: a shrug! Friendly? Yeah. most days. Utterly incompetent? Definitely. This is the first online review I have EVER written about ANYTHING, so make of that what you will. Personally, I advise against feeling unwell in the vicinity of Chesterton Road, Cambridge. Useless twats!
