Simply cycling bikes for rent at designated times. Only £2 per kid which is a great price. About 20 interesting types of bikes. Some for adults to push little kids in trolleys or trailers, trikes for kids, teenage size bikes etc

I use the tennis court when I have no time to go to the club at Alkrington, and sad but true that it is not in a good shape. The fence has several holes, not enough space behind the base line, deep mud in the corner. No public toilet, no lights. On the positive side the park is huge, nice features, only low class people are making it worse, dumping litter all over. From spring until autumn gardeners come and cut the grass every 2 month or so, the put some new benches and net on the basketball ring.

Nice relaxing place to walk. There's also a lake cafe were you can get a snack and a brew. The dog walkers and cafe staff are a friendly bunch.

One of Manchester's finest woodland parks. An ancient woodland to the North of the city on the A664, although after a few minutes walk it's hard to imagine you are in a city. Several scenic walking routes lead around the park, with a picturesque boating lake (the boats are long gone, replaced by a bird refuge) and boathouse cafe serving refreshments. It has a running track and several football pitches as well as two children's playgrounds at differing sides of the park. Well worth a visit.

Doesn't look that promising from the outside but go in and explore and it is a nice suprise. Boating/fishing lake ( not sure how often it is open ) 2 paths down the centre screened off from surrounding houses by trees and rhododendron bushes. Fab colours in late spring. Steep dip in middle. Wooded edges. Playground. Sports fields floodlit and an athletes track. Takes several visits to find everything. Good for dog walking.Various events through the year. I was warned to be careful by myself but I never had a problem.
