Advanced Personal Trainers and Massage Therapists, who have been working in Exeter and the surrounding areas for over ten years.

We have a long list of satisfied clients from all age groups and backgrounds, with many wide and varied success stories.

At Body Active we will guide you safely and effectively, always remaining encouraging and motivating. We will work with you to develop a training plan that is tailored to your goals and priorities.

I had originally seen Phil to help me achieve my goal of bulking and toning up only a month before my holiday. I feel that he took a personal interest in helping me achieve my goal, and his guidance was just what I needed. He also provides a rounded service, focusing on nutrition as well as exercise so that I achieve my goals quicker. I was so pleased with my progress that I still continue to see him. I am definitely still seeing a difference and getting more toned which is exactly what I wanted. More importantly, Phil has a vast knowledge of fitness; his expertise and his calm and positive approach made my sessions varied, challenging yet fun. Definitely money well spent.

I have been to see Body Active for help with an injury and routine ‘maintenance’ sports massages. I can’t recommend Phil enough as he was able to diagnosis the muscle that I had hurt and gave me exercises to sort it out as well as providing a massage which released the muscle enough to get back in the gym quicker than I expected. I have since been to have routine ‘maintenance’ sports massages, which are so important to my training and recovery. As Body Active are based in Exeter town centre this means that I can easily pop to get a massage before or after work or even on my lunch break.

I wholeheartedly recommend Phil at Body Active Devon. I have seen him now for seven sessions and he is incredibly motivating and encouraging. In each session so far, I have been taken out of my comfort zone and suprise myself by going on to achieve better results than the previous time. I use to find exercise a bit of a chore but now, thanks to Phil's personal training, his advice and knowledge within this field, I now really enjoy exercising. He will also be known as the man who got me running (for fun!)

I've been working with Phil for the passed 3 months, his focus and attention detail has helped me reach, surpass and reset my goals. Each weekly session is different, and Phil is enthusiastic and committed to ensuring I enjoy the session whilst working hard. Phil has targeted my training to improve my running and I have reaped the rewards in improving my PB's in a number of different events. I look forward to training each week with Phil and he motivates me to get out and do other workouts between our sessions. I'd recommend Phil to anyone, but don't want him to be too busy that he can't fit me in anymore as I'd struggle without him!

I am now in my 4th year of training with Phil and Body Active Devon. I had been a regular gym goer for many years but with Phil I have changed my routines and totally raised my output. Phil has a great knowledge of anatomy and sports physiology which he applies to the needs of the individual as well as his body massage processes. I would not hesitate to recommend Phil to anybody who wishes to begin or advance their fitness training.
