I have been registered with this surgery since I was born in the 50s. The GP’s are all good, but I have found recently that some receptionists need some training in how to speak to patients. Some of them are damn right rude and it is unacceptable. Been unable to get an appointment, not even able to fill the online econsult. It is sad to see such a once great surgery go down the way it has recently.
I have just moved to the area and registered with Blundellsands Surgery. I recently attended an appointment with Dr. Lee relating to my young daughter. Dr. Lee was very thorough when examining my daughter and took the time to explain what he needed to to us. He clearly outlined the treatment plan and phoned me the next day to check how my daughter was doing. Dr. Lee went above and beyond to help and we were very grateful.
A very good experience with my GPs here. The receptionist/admin lady at the front desk was extremely attentive and was very friendly My Doctor was brilliant and was thorough and had clearly read all my notes prior to the appointment. My only suggestion would be on the door my Doctor had 'recording in progress, do not disturb' however my Doctor never explained why he was recording or asked for consent on whether I wanted to be recorded, it would've been nice to have been asked. Otherwise a very good experience for my first time coming to this GP practice. Well done and thank you!
I wish to thank Dr Gillespie , Dr Faith and reception team , for the end of life care given for my dad . With them his wishes were met . We can not thankyou enough .
A lovely team, yes they are stretched , yes the increasing demands on receptionists means there is a slight hesitation while you are assessed as to whether you are likely to “Go Off” if they cannot deliver your expectations of care because of the poor state of the NHS. The care I received has been and remains excellent. I recommend politeness and patience, yes they are human and will make the occasional mistake, yes the NHS is in the worst condition I have known, shouting and screaming at the staff will not improve it.
Great response time, clear and straightforward service, very patient with people with special needs. Only downsides are the two and a half minute phone menu disclosing information before you’re transferred; need an option to skip it, gets annoying after a while or you have to call back if your signal dips. Speaking of signal, if you don’t have any phone signal for triage appointments you’re basically screwed, having to go outside in public, sharing confidential information to my doctor, like I have had to a couple times in the past, is not exactly ideal; should have some facilities put in place. Other than that they’re fantastic!
Doubtless under a great deal of pressure from the current coronavirus imbroglio, the practice nurse was very generous with her time and both pleasant and helpful to speak with. If but every GP surgery was built in the image of this one; the UK would truly be a happier and healthier place!
Our family have registered with the surgery in 2016 and sadly have had to consult the medical team often due to our daughter’s complex health needs. The service is always responsive, often at very short notice, with highly competent team of staff at all levels of the organisation. Thank you for your hard work!
Staff never actually give you information. They always suggest to call later. They don’t know the booking system. Been with them for less than a year and 3 different GPS moved on to other surgeries. They don’t follow up on high risk patients, recommend things that don’t exists, it’s a joke of a place. Where is my nin money going I wonder?
Difficulty getting appointments recently - last visit signed in and sat over an hour only to find Dr had been sent home yet no advice from reception. Waited another space of time fitted in with male Dr when asked for female so wasted trip. E consult for painkillers only to receive an nhs appt message to advise an 11.30 booking at surgery - turned away as only telephone consultations - why the big sign for e consult when they send you appointments at surgery not TELEPHONE consultations.???? Is there any point in using the e consult ?
