We booked for steak night . Impressive! Not only exceptional value but the quality was superb. We both agreed one of the very best steaks we had ever been served. Greeted by two lovely open fires on a cold , wintry night . Great job team Blue Bell. XService: 5/5
Great little camp site, last but one night out from the end, or second from the beginning, if you're going the wrong way of the Coast-to-Coast walk. Reasonably sheltered from winds, the ground is good for pitching: pretty nearly flat, with a slightly raised plateau nearer the road and takes pegs well. However, only one toilet dedicated to the camp site. Best part though is the pub. Very friendly and welcoming, they had four different real ales on tap. Food was good too, breakfast especially and reasonably priced.
I stayed in one of the rooms recently while doing the Coast to Coast. The room was clean, but I feel it was rather expensive for what it was, when comparing it to other properties along the route. The tiny room did the job for one night and was clean and comfy, just £10 over the top in my opinion. The food and drink in the bar was spot on and pretty much priced as I’d expect. 3 stars for the room 5 for the pub
Walking the coast to coast, hoping for a bit of hospitality and humanity but didn’t get it here. No advance booking, no food. No wonder pubs are dying off. Following this review the situation was explained re hard to find chef etc. I accepted they are doing their best and increased star rating.
A proper local pub with good food, good ale and great service. Staff couldn't be more helpful. A single spot for campervan stay over, shower and toilet facilities shared with the quiet campsite.
We were looking for somewhere to stop on the way back to Leeds from the east coast. The Blue Bell Inn is a lovely country pub with shady beer garden to the rear. Good selection of beers, the staff were great, menu looks good too, will try the food next time!
It's an ideal place to meet my scattered family halfway! Good food and pleasant helpful staff. A lovely area outside. Dogs welcome!
We stayed here as part of the coast to coast but parked up in the car park with our campervan. There is a toilet, shower and washing up sink available all day and night. There's a lovely beer garden and a pleasant interior. We had an enjoyable meal in the evening.Location: 5/5
I recently enjoyed an excellent Sunday roast dinner along with 5 other friends and family on a cold, rainy autumn afternoon. The pub, however, was very warm and welcoming, with a roaring fire at each end of the bar. This, along with friendly and attentive staff, combined to create a nice cosy atmosphere. Alongside a varied and extensive menu were their roast beef, chicken and pork Sunday lunches. All came with additional side bowls of vegetables and gravy boats. The food was delicious, with good hearty portions and plenty for everyone. The costs were also very reasonable and I would highly recommend a visit to this establishment which is only a few minutes from the A19.
