One of our very favourite places and our first choice for steak. We were late to our booking on Friday phoned up and the kitchen held off on closing so that they could serve it at our late! arrival. The steak is always top notch, but also forgot how good the garlic flatbread is too. The staff are lovely and it's a nice cosy venue too. Next time we plan to go back for a day visit to allow the children in the play area outside.
We thought we would re visit somewhere we used to visit alot previously. It didn't disappoint. Although it was extremely hot, and busy, we were seen to our table, either inside or out absolutely beautiful twinkling beer garden!!! promptly. The menu was good, I asked for an off menu basic due to dietary and it was no issue at all. Both daughter and partner choose parmos which they said were delicious. These came with salads, coleslaw and chunky chips. I choose chicken mixed salad and it was extremely fresh and flavoursome. All were served very good. The desserts chosen were hot chocolate brownie and biscoff cheesecake. These were absolutely delicious. I had americano. Overall our waitresses were so helpful and although very busy they ensured we got a good experience and food that was a very good standard. The pub was fresh and well decorated, toilets were extremely clean. We had an amazing night here, we will be back.
I hadn't been since I was a bairn. It was a place my parents used to love going when they first got together, having both had been through messy divorces. I wanted somewhere nice to take my dad to keep him busy and distracted as my mam is in hospital with cancer. The place mam and dad did their courting seemed like a food choice. Once we were settled in, I informed the lady serving us that my dad may be a little slow in deciding what he wanted, as he is suffering from both dementia and Alzheimer's. She was most understanding and very helpful with dad, made him feel comfortable and at home. The food was wonderful, dad had the beef suet, and as there was so much, he struggled to eat it all. I had a parmo, living in Bath for 15 years now, I rarely get to enjoy one, this certainly hit the spot and if my better half could make chips like that, I'd consider marrying her. Thank-you to the staff for being so understanding with dad, you are a credit to the business. Excellent place to visit. Lovely and clean. Reasonable prices. Well worth a visit. WHEN mam has recovered, we will bring her.
Staff were lovely! Starters were amazing . Potato skins were MASSIVE see photo, giant yorkshire pudding was good, chicken parmosan were lovely however too much cheese... everything was lovely! Will come back when in area
Best Sunday lunch i ever had. The staff were lovely and friendly. Food was outstanding i had the beef was cooked perfectly serving pink very tasty. Also a dog friendly place with happy dog treats on the bar. Definitely will go again especially for a Sunday lunch
Visited for a birthday meal with family for the first time 7 11 22 and will definitely be back!! The most friendly and efficient service from the lovely lady whose name I'm ashamed to say we didn't get front of house, thank you so much. The food was delicious and none of us finished our meal, it was so filling! We would all highly recommend and look forward to returning very soon, once again, thank you .
Been meaning to go this place a while as over the years I have eaten in all the places in that area but there. Location and setting is really really nice one of the better ones nice little out side play are for kids up to age of 10 I would say. Got loads of benches out side which is nice especially when the sun is out which is why we went there on a nice sunny day, BUT the service was really poor. Really poor one of worst I've had in a long time. It was busy but still no excuse as that's what that place should be of that calibre, we got there and got told to find our own table out side and they gave us a magic spoon with number on and order on your phone, cool, but massive mistake they made was the table we went to was covered in crums and stains of previous customers so these workers are sending you to table they don't even know were cleaned or not. So after a good 10mins faffing on we orderd the bill total came to £80 roughly for 2 people with a good tip in that for they service. So I asked couple of girls about cleaning table as didn't fancy eating for £80 on a table full of left overs and sticky red patches of some food anyways we got told if we wanted it cleaning we had to stand out the way for 5 minutes while it was cleaned or sit at another table asif it was a massive operation and they were really blunt, so I said fine we moved while they cleaned it the girl come and was there no more then 30 seconds and still left the big sticky patch right on table and gave it the worst clean ever. So went back sat down the starter came with no cutlery had to walk all the way back in to get some which I think was a tired mistake by waiter as was a hog day and alot of walking back and forth for the workers, so I told the girl what happened she asked who it was who cleaned it before and apologised and gave it a good scrub so was i okay after that. The food wasn't the best for the prices they are similar to what others are charging but the steaks didn't do it for me considering what you can get out there for same price. But is a nice place won't be going back in a hurry.
Food lovely, puddings amazing, staff very friendly, easy parking. Old fashioned setting with real fires.
We loved our visit! Came for Mother's Day and the place was busy but the serving staff checked in regularly to make sure we were having the best experience and the food was lovely too. Couldn't fault our visit, we look forward to coming back.
Table for 8 to celebrate 40th birthday!! Great good and really nice feel to the place. Shame Steak on the stone is not on but I can understand how much energy it requires to hear the stone. We had a mixture of starters mains and deserts and everyone enjoyed it.
