Irene is a cheerful and lovely host. I forgot my jacket in my room, and when she called me about 70 miles and a hour and a half later, she agreed to post it to me in America! Couldn't have asked for a better stay (the bed was very comfortable) or a better host.

The rooms were clean and charming.  We had some difficulty finding Blairdene because it is not approachable from the street.  We had to find a phone number and then call for directions.  We were then told to drive on the walk way since it was a Sunday evening and the shops were closed.  We did and were pulled over by the police.  They dismissed the problem because we are not natives.  We had lost our luggage on the plane flight.  We gave the Blairdene as a place we would be going after leaving Edinburgh.  We let the "hostess" of Blairdene know we were expecting luggage.  One bag came - the second bag came a couple of hours later and was sent back to the airport because the "hostess" had a doctor appointment and didn't find anyone to cover for her.  We picked up the second bag at the airport an hour before our flight home...no bag for 10 days.  Thanks Blairdene!!!! Would I recommend this guest house -- no.

The owner is really welcoming and accomodating, at short notice she put my bicycle away securely and was no end of help.  She was extreemely friendly, my room was one of the cleanest I have stayed in and she cooked a lovely breakfast and the food was also clean and done well.

I would stay again and if I come back to Arbroath I will make sure I book in.
