It's a nice, cosy place. The prices aren't cheap, of course, but they're reasonable. The staff are very friendly, and after testing a couple of beers right at the bar, I picked one that was of interest to me.
Stopped ahead of our flight from Gatwick, we got there just after opening time at 12.30 and couldn't fault the service and quality of the food. We had a burger and a cobb sandwich. Staff were friendly and decent pricing.
Amazing lunch here on Saturday with my Mum and Dad who came to visit me for the day for early Christmas celebrations. The food was beautifully cooked and the apple pie was amazing, the base was so light, not like traditional heavy pastry which was nice because I had pie for my main. The staff were very attentive and the pub has a lovely fire to keep you cosy on a winter's day. Very glad we chose to go here and my parents have said they will definitely go again if we go out to eat when they are visiting. Thanks for a lovely experience.
Visited Saturday 17/12/22 Nice venue, gorgeous smell of log fire as you walked in. Very pleasant, friendly & attentive staff. Excellent customer service. Food well presented and tasty especially the apple pie ! First time here & will definitely visit again. Thank you & Recommended
Visited as passing through, and really glad I did. Interesting and varied menu, with a few vegan options for every course. The service was quick and really friendly. I would definitely come again if in the area - its very close to Gatwick.
I've driven past the Black Horse many times and never called in. Really nice place and lovely staff. Food was equally as good. So don't be like me, if you're passing, stop for a break.
Very disappointed in the meal we were served on Sunday. The beef was so tough you couldn’t cut it, let alone chew it. To add to that the food was cold. To be fair my husband had the burger and chips and his food was piping hot. It only leaves me to think Sunday lunches were left sitting around too long. As it was a celebration we didn’t make a fuss however would not there again.
Restricted menu, small portions, apart from the hake or hoki, which was more batter than fish. Good service but on the whole doesn't have a welcoming feel about it
Nice pub,good choice of drinks and nice meals too, the staff were very friendly and helpful too. Ideally located by Gatwick airport but still has the “country pub” feel.
Just dropped in for quick unplanned meal. They looked after us really well. Staff were great, friendly and professional. Food was OK too, not out of this world, but good value and pleasant enough.
