School night treat - what a great night - greeted initially by The Maitre De and he was very personable - his welcoming attitude and extreme knowledge of wine and the menu was excellent- Dan your a real star varied menu and my partner and I ensure we eat differently so we can try it all and food envy across the table at all stages - starter and dessert souffle are both Gorgeous. The jazz music was very relaxed and didnt dominate the night - on leaving I have booked again for 4 weeks time as the enjoyable night needs to be repeated -
Fantastic pub, wonderful food and really pleasent staff. I had a Mushroom tart to start and then the pork belly my partner had mussels and then the pie. For dessert I had baked apple with calvados crumble and my partner had sticky toffee pudding
I absolutely loved the cauliflower steak - best i have ever had. All of us were very pleased with the food. The service is efficient and low-key. Relaxed quiet atmosphere. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
Gorgeous Sunday Roasts - worth every penny! We went for Sunday lunch as a group of 4. It is incredibly popular and gets very busy so booking is a necessity. My partner and I had the roast beef which was incredibly tender and I loved the option for unlimited potatoes. When I asked for more potatoes, I was also offered more veg. which I was impressed by. The other members of our party had the fish curry and lamb roulade which were met with high praise. Staff were friendly and attentive and service was very efficient despite the busy lunch rush. Would definitely return and recommend!
This was a real find - especially since I'm vegan. Three mains to choose from when most pubs give you one. Also desserts with vegan ice cream when other places haven't had any. My family and I loved the presentation and the service. The dishes were delicious and plenty of room between tables. The car park is spacious. My Paloma cocktail - which I first had in Corfu - was freshly made and lovely. We are definitely coming back.
Visited The Black Horse, as we were in the area seeing an aged relative. One of our party is in a wheelchair. Couldn't have been more pleased with the service. The staff were super helpful. Opened doors ahead of the wheelchair, cleared access to the disabled toilet and found us the perfect table. The food was lovely, too. We were there in a Sunday, so had the choice of roasts. The beef was cooked perfectly and the veggie option was spot on. Would happily revisit. Wheelchair accessibility: Spot on. Easy access to the restaurant and disabled toilet. Staff very helpful and attentive.
Spur of the moment for two. Greeted with a warm welcome by Robert. A fully booked Saturday with no pressure to gobble and go. Chatted amongst the other guests who were well at ease and friendly. The beef and ale pie was scrumptious - full of flavour with treat of half an ale served. A heart felt place to relax and feel at home. Thank you.
My food was absolutely delicious, unfortunately my partner had to send his back. The staff could not have been more apologetic and offered a new meal on the house, no charge for the original meal. Service was excellent, staff very friendly. Would recommendFood: 4/5
Wonderful evening spent celebrating a birthday. The food was fantastic and our table was in a perfect spot. Service was good and an overall pleasant experience
Had a great birthday lunch here. Food was excellent and the service was outstanding. From the greeting as we entered, to the bringing of the bill I don't think I have had such good service for a long time. A very enjoyable experience.
