Story

As a life long jazz fan, Robert Roope’s frame designs resonate with the eyewear worn by many of the Jazz musicians of the 50s. The brand ‘Black Eyewear’ was created. To date, Black Eyewear consists of more than 50 designs of glasses and sunglasses, each design reflects modern style inspired by the spirit of the 50s.

Just got my new glasses from here and I have to say it was an absolutely fantastic experience. Brian was amazing, so much attention and care taken to get the glasses sitting exactly right on my face, pupils in the right place on the Lens etc…Loads of honest and helpful advice on what frames suited me and what didn’t, but ultimately let me choose and didn’t push me into buying anything. It’s often takes my eyes ages to adjust but these were perfect straight away. Can’t thank you enough! See you next time
This is an awesome store full of amazingly designed frames. I was looking for some new, trendy frames for computer use. I went with Buster, a retro 50s frame that looks great for my type of face. Brian was super helpful in the process. The lenses are also high-quality, super clear, and sharp. Thank you Black Eyewear! I shall return for more.
I stumbled upon this quaint little glasses shop called Black Eyewear London just by chance one Saturday afternoon. I wasn't looking for a new pair of glasses yet, but it was due. When I stepped into the shop I was greeted by lovely Brian, who kindly showed me all the different interesting and stylish glasses collection. I was blown away by the cool designs and actually found a frame that I fell in love with called Mildred. I couldn't wait to get my eyes tested, and now I have my glasses. I'm proudly wearing them, they look COOL! The glasses works with my personality, I'm an artist and wallpaper designer. I introduced my sister to the shop a couple of weeks ago. She has now seen a pair of glasses called Blossom she would like to buy. Brian, you are so friendly and helpful. Thank you for your care and support especially when spending time to correct a problem that occurred with my prescription, you certainly know your stuff. Thank you so much for all your help. I definitely recommend Black Eyewear, they have good choice of reading glasses and sunglasses. The customer service is ACE!
Ordered from USA, took a while, not their fault at all. Three pairs...meant to keep one, but kept two because they were both great and particularly well-suited to my big old head. Return of the 3rd pair was easy--not cheap to ship the one pair back but hey that's on the post office. Clean, sophisticated, unusual look. If you don't like people asking you where you got your frames, look elsewhere. If they can distribute in USA, there's a market here for these things!

Wow what a selection and what a phantastic service! I love this boutique so much, it's one of a kind. Brian who works in this amazing store, his solid expertise together with his truly superb personality made my visit an outstanding experience! I have promised myself I will go back for at least 2 more pairs. The selection is a delight for eyewear lovers who look for timeless jet statement frames. I have been a customer for 10 years now, bought my first pair at NoOne boutique in Shoreditch. I wanted to treat my sister for her birthday and ordered sunglasses on the 27th of August. After days of not coming back to me, i called and was informed that sunglasses are missing and I need to order abs pay another one. They will refund in up to 5 weeks, depending when the Royal Mail procedures of missing item are finished. I truly was expecting something better from the company. Not even a hint of a try to help me anyhow. Shame.
On the recommendation of a friend - after I’d asked here where she’d bought her very eye-catching glasses - I sought this place out. Wow, the design, quality and attention to detail is incredible. Plus, the excellent friendly and knowledgeable service is among the best I’ve ever had. I’m a true convert. Bought two pairs of glasses as I simply couldn’t decide on just one design, and can’t see myself looking elsewhere in the future.
Amazing service, funky glasses. Really enjoyed the service at this store, very attentive staff without being overbearing. Also and most important they are very good at what they do, they know what will work for your face and nose. I bought glasses here more then a year ago and I use them daily. The quality is good but like anything it doesn't last forever. The matt black glasses in some areas the blackness is starting to fade. Would high recommend this shop and looking forward to going back and buying a new pair.
One day I was listening to Bill Evans Jazz album, The Village Vanguard Sessions. I liked the glasses he was wearing and thought about getting something similar when I needed glasses. I did a Google search to find out a little bit more about any options of similar glasses. I was really surprised to see Black Eyewear show up making the exact set. The problem was there was no presence in the US. I didn't want to get them without seeing if they looked good on me. I found myself in London for a few days of business. I checked them out and they were perfect. I purchased them, and they were ready in three days. I picked them up and everything was just as I wanted. I couldn't be happier with the person I worked with or the glasses.
