Nice pools although the medium one seems to never be open and when it is, it's usually shut really quickly. The kids love the slide, easily accessible parking. Standard price.
Visiting from London thought I would pop in here with the little one. Really well maintained. Enough showers to go around as the pool wasn't on a schedule with everyone getting out at the same time. The air temperature and pool temperature are absolutely perfect. The staff are friendly and pretty chill. Little one loved the slide. Best swimming pool I have ever been to. Puts the north London ones to shame.
Gav has taught my son for years through different stages of swimming. He's amazing, so engaging, relates to the kids but is firm and fair! My son really loves every minute of his lessons.
Went to baby pool with 10 month old. Plenty of space for us. Big pool and slide open too. Could do with more family changing as all were taken and it's hard when little one isn't walking to get changed.
Nice swimming centre, 3 pools and a slide, even offering a variety of classes. Would 100% recommend a stop off if your in the area, 5 star service, the little ones loved it as well. Will definitely be back for multiple visits. Cannot complain at the price either. Cheap as chips.
Pool was clean and plenty warm enough.. the "lifeguards" however we found unfortunately disappointing. At a time there were 2/3 young lifeguards sitting and chatting at the exit to the slide, drinking fizzy drinks and eating chocolate. Only once did I see one of the lifeguards walk around the pool through out the time we were there. There were children in both the smaller pool and the main pool and it would have been nice to see the lifeguards be a little more "on the ball" so to speak.
Very expensive for over 65s £4.50 Unless you are an active card holder so any visitor coming from outside Gateshead Borough which we were won't have one. My local pool charges £3.00 for concession tickets sovi was not impressed. Pool family changing was good and spacious which we needed as we had our 2 grandchildren. The pool itself mainpool was too cold for young non swimmers. I appreciate that for older swimmers it was suitable as they swim up and down and are on the move mine were 2 and 4 so not as mobile and as a swimming teacher I know the recommended temperature the AS A say the pool should be when young children are in the water. I don't think I would visit again with children.
Have been enjoying taking the grandchildren recently excellent staff .such a shame its closing due to gateshead council
It has three pools? A beginners pool, a main pool and a 1 metre intermediate pool but check to make sure intermediate pool is open first. The shower facilities are good the changing rooms spacious. The. Staff are friendly and helpful.
I have been going to one of the aqua fit classes there and Peter is a brilliant teacher .only wish he did more classes Other staff are very nice and friendly and the lady on reception is lovely . Nice and clean place as well .
