Birmingham New Street is an incredibly busy and central railway station that perfectly reflects the energy and connectivity of Birmingham city. As one of the UK’s major transport hubs, it offers excellent access to both local and long-distance services, making it ideal for everyday commuting or travelling across the country.nnThe station is large, modern, and well-signposted, so even first-time visitors can find their way relatively easily. The open concourse and clear electronic displays make it simple to locate platforms, check departure times, and plan onward journeys. There are plenty of staff on hand throughout the station who are helpful, friendly, and ready to assist with travel queries, tickets, or directions.nnOne of the biggest strengths of Birmingham New Street is its connectivity. Trains run frequently to major UK destinations like London, Manchester, Glasgow, and regional cities, while local services provide access to the wider West Midlands. The station’s central location means it’s also within walking distance of key city attractions, shopping districts, and bus routes.nnFacilities at New Street are impressive for a train station. There are a range of shops, cafes, and food outlets — from quick-grab snacks and coffee to sit-down meals. The toilets and seating areas are generally clean and well-maintained, though at peak times the station can get very crowded, which is to be expected given its role and scale.nnAccessibility is good, with lifts and ramps available for those with luggage or mobility needs, though occasionally busy periods can make navigating with large bags a bit challenging.nnOverall, Birmingham New Street is a dynamic, efficient, and important transport hub that serves travellers well. Its excellent connections, range of facilities, and central location make it a station I regularly use and would recommend to anyone travelling through Birmingham.
nBirmingham New Street is such a modern, clean, and well-organized station. The facilities are excellent, with plenty of shops, restaurants, and seating areas while waiting for trains. The station is very spacious and bright, making travel stress-free. Signage is clear, and it’s easy to find your way around. I was also impressed with the art displays and lively atmosphere—it really feels like the heart of the city. A great travel experience overall!nThank younDiluka Nadeera
I love this station!nnIt is very modern, plenty of places to eat and drink. It is very central and easy to access by bus, taxi or car.nnOzzy, the bull is a grant contribution!
Very modern train station with services to London, the midlands, and the north, Scotland. It's a great place to relax while waiting for your train, with ample seating and many shops to look through.
Birmingham New Street Station has twelve platforms, each is sub divided into A, B, and C, giving thirty-six areas where the choo-choos pull in to pick up and drop off passengers. There are no bins or toilets in any of these areas, I kid you not. It's large, it's impersonal.
