I highly reccomend Birchbrae lodges for a quiet getaway. Topclass accomodation with everything you need for your stay. Great location for walking and sight seeing.  The owners are very welcoming and helpfully. It was a great find and will definetly return.

I spent four nights here in June and particularly enjoyed the location. You can walk to a pub/hotel down the road with a nice waterfall and hike behind it. There's also a ferry -- free for pedestrians -- across the street that you can ride to one of the prettiest small towns I've ever visited. It reminds me of tranquil Norway or Sweden. In the town, there are a variety of nice walks, a pub, and a brewery that does pizza on Friday nights order ahead. The lodges were spotless and well equipped.

Another lovely stay at Birchbrae. The location is beautiful and peaceful. There are supermarkets just a short drive away. The lodges are very comfortable and very well equipped.nThe owners are really helpful and there’s lot of info/suggestions for places to visit during your stay.

What an amazing stay.  The views are stunning.  Very impressed with the cleanliness and size of the lodge for 6 adults and a dog.  A trip well with making.

This was our second time staying in Birchbrae - our first visit two years ago was only for 4 nights and we enjoyed it so much we booked for a whole week this year!  Once again we found the lodge spotlessly clean, exceptionally well equipped and extremely comfortable.  Pauline and Jim are excellent hosts, friendly and welcoming. We met two ladies from the housekeeping team as we left who were both very friendly.  My 5 star review does not do Birchbrae justice - a truly fabulous place to stay!  We will certainly be re-booking again in the coming years.
