We initially dropped by to check it out for a prospective wedding venue. There was a wedding going on but the staff were still willing to give us all the information. We decided to stop and had lunch, we were so impressed with the food and service. There is a wide selection of Drinks behind the bar. I would recommend this place for any one wishing for a lovely afternoon or evening. We are still undecided about location of wedding
Have to say we came away a little disappointed. Family of 4 adults and 2 children. Children's menu didn't offer a great choice. Main menu offered a vast selection. 3 of the group we served pate for our starters which was served with no bread/toast...eating pate neat is not a particularly pleasent experience. For our main course 2 of the group ordered a chicken dish with lemon and sauce which sounded very fresh. We were presented with what was basically a Sunday lunch. The sauce was simply gravy poured all over the plate. Not one of the adults could detect even a hint of lemon. Had I ordered a Sunday lunch I would have enjoyed the meal. In total we ordered 4 starters, 6 mains 2 kids dishes 3 puddings a coffee and in total 6 drinks 2 kids squash not a huge meal but were met with a bill over just over £200. We are all 'foodies' who don't skimp on a good meal but felt for the meal we had this price was unjustified. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable but due to the reasons above we won't be returning.
Our first visit. It was a cold wet January evening so it was relatively quiet. Plenty of room in the car park. We were warmly received and the place was warm with log fires. Service was excellent and on the whole food was very good. It's a characterful old buiding. There is plenty of outside seating so in the warmer weather it would be a very pleasant place to visit.
Took my aunt for a birthday lunch. The service was excellent and the food was good. I had the belly pork. The croquet was lovely and crispy but over sweet. I would have preferred some crispy potatoes and apple sauce to balance out the soft meat and purée. Desserts were excellent.
We went to Bickley Mill for a last minute evening out. We have only ever been here for wedding functions in the past but have discovered a little hidden treasure for food now. The staff were very pleasant from beginning to end and very attentive to our table. The venue is lovely and I can only imagine that it's a very cosy setting in the winter with the log fire going. Would definitely recommend. I had the Parfait, Lamb & Rosemary Pie, with this epic sundae that I took a photo of
Sunday lunch was perfect, roast beef and veg and Yorkshire balloon. The service was excellent from a team of young servers who were friendly, accommodating and very efficient. Couldn't ask for better. First time there for many years but will be returning again much sooner. Wheelchair accessibility: The car park is compressed gravel making a wheel chair with narrow wheels a struggle. While the majority of the restaurant is level there is a step leading to one part. Worth mentioning if booking a table.
Wow. This place is special. Great christmas atmosphere, staff so helpful and Justinia was such a tonic. Made our night. I rarely give any establishment 10/10 but this place deserves it. Even with a wedding event on the same night we got excellent service, great food and good value for money. Definitely visit again. Well done Bickley Mill.
I attended a rather sad family occasion in a neighbouring village and stayed only one night at the Mill however I found the food excellent particularly the breakfast. The choice of constituents was extensive, and afforded everybody no matter how selective a wonderful breakfast. The service by the young staff members was attentative, and prompt and helpful. Parking: Parking was adequate and onvenient Wheelchair accessibility: Quite convenient taken with care.
I visit the area weekly to see my mother. Bickley Mill is usually where we have lunch. It is always excellent, summer or winter, busy or quiet, it's always the same friendly atmosphere and brilliant food. Love it!Food: 5/5
Always great food and friendly service. Fantastic location as well. There's always a wedding reception every time we go but cant really blame them at all.Service: 5/5
