Supposed to be a 3 star, but have stayed in loads recently and easily deserved a 4 star, if not more.nRoom excellent, nice views, staff excellent,nSteak, best I've had for years.nOnly let downs which are petty, disabled shower was less than a beer piss.nOther than that, can't fault.nWell done team, would definitely stay here again
Visited last night for a wedding reception.nNice hotel in clean condition, pretty gardens and pleasant outdoor areas. Toilets were clean.nBut massive problems at the bar.nOf the 2 guys and 2 girls only one or 2 of the guys were serving, they seemed uninterested, grumpy and quite rude, with no “please” or “thank yous” the older one was constantly looking at a wall clock and when someone asked the younger one “which rums they stocked” he flatly said “I’m serving someone else” to which the customer said “I wasn’t trying to push in, I was just wondering which rums you sold” to which he just shrugged his shoulders at the customer!!nThe bar at the start of the night had many dirty glasses piled up and they seemed overwhelmed also the bar area was generally dirty. It was quite a small bar.nThe “south coast” beer and the “66” beer tasted the same, it was sour and tasted strongly of citrus, it was very unpleasant. Guinness was sold in cans and fizzed up on a vibrating plate! Drinks were generally overpriced, and it took ages to get served.nOne guest was shocked to be told his medium size round with 5 tequila’s was over £50!!nMany guests went to the off licence over the road to get drinks as it was quicker and cheaper!!nUnlikely to recommend or return, very disappointing.
Great hotel, cheap and very clean rooms. Can't go wrong with that. Huge shout out to Martin, amazing host!
We stayed here on Saturday night. We were pleasantly surprised to be told that we had been allocated a superior room, which was in the courtyard.nIt became apparent that all was not quite right at this hotel as areas of the hotel had been partitioned off. It didn't take much to work out that the hotel was also been used as a migrant hotel. The issue for us as paying guests were:n1. Is this what we wanted?n2. Shouldn't we have been informed of this when making the booking?n3. Could our safety be guaranteed?nnI am still waiting for Best Western to acknowledge my concerns.
Just awful. Had executive room which was OK but think staff quarters were right above my head. Could hear everything: the guy coughing, switching on bathroom light, using toilet right above my head and then he was up at 5am. Barely slept a wink.
