The hotel is an attractive period building in a superb location for the town centre, which suited the purpose of our visit and much more could be made of the building to make it attractive and pleasant to stay. The public areas are in process of refurbishment & a talented designer could make sure the cost would make a massive improvement to enjoy a visit. Obviously our stay was affected by the work in progress. At the moment the restaurant was too brightly lit, had the atmosphere of an over-tired truck stop, the tables & chairs looked worn out rather than quaint and the meal was amateurish. There was a sign that the food was prepared by someone who knows about cooking & also about presentation on the plate, the meat was decent quality. Our room was well decorated, clean & comfortable - the bed especially spacious & comfortable. The en suite was clean & had everything we needed. The staff were all competent, efficient, professional and friendly. Sadly they are heroically hard working in a building that has been allowed to deteriorate.

Recently used this hotel a few times in a month. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Rooms are spacious and the hotel location is very convenient. Will keep coming here more often. Very pleased.

Don’t bother, save your money. Bedroom door broken. Radiator broken. Toilet flusher broken. No key for door. Inaccurate representation of room. “Breakfast included” misleading as was only included via room service which was not made clear. £16 for a bucket of hollandaise sauce with poached egg and bread. We raised our concerns with the receptionist regarding our experience and was consequently offered no refund. Don’t waste your money

After a long drive from Norwich arrive to find place is undergoing renovation so no bar, no where to sit relax with a drink watch tv etc. No food on a Sunday as no chef as very few guests....room in attic so very small very hot and no space to move with a child's wardrobe in... feel sorry for the lovely lady on reception who has been left on her own! Would give 0 stars if that was an option!!
