We had nothing but great service at this store. My Daughter tried her dress on in the Newcastle branch (also very helpful) and managed to find her dream dress in Nottingham, which is closer to home. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Lucy, the seamstress, was amazing. She listened to our comments during fittings and performed a minor miracle. My daughter wanted the back of her dress changed and Lucy made a beautiful gown even more amazing. Lucy worked tirelessly on our last fitting, to get minor tweaks finished so that we could bring the dress home the same day. Many thanks to the Nottingham team.

DO NOT USE THIS SHOP! I took my bridesmaids here solely for the reason of wanting to give them a really nice extra treat to say thanks for being my bridesmaids. I was told the order would take 12-16 weeks. Everything seemed great at first with helpful staff. I called in 3 times after 16 weeks, and by 21 weeks was told they had no idea how long the dresses would be. My wedding was only 6 weeks away at this point. I complained and wrote to customer services and got no email in reply. Just to point that everything, and I mean everything, has to go through head office so there is no point talking to the staff in the shop - they have no clue what is going on at any point. Fortunately I got and update and some of the dresses were in. I asked them to fit them for free given the delay and they refused, saying it was only a short delay and being extremely rude from head office. Fortunately I then cancelled the order, and have now had time to get my dresses elsewhere for a heck of a cheaper price. And they had the gall to ask there was anything they could do to change my mind. This shop is an absolute disaster, and it will cause you so much stress and ruin your bug day. I've been luckier than some on here that I got my actual dress elsewhere and realised in enough time that I could redeem the bridesmaid situation. Please, please save yourself the heartache and look elsewhere - honestly for the price these dresses are and the extra alteration charge as well as the appalling service, any other bridal shop you could find would be better. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Got my gown here for our wonderful winter wedding. I didn't have an appointment, but I was able to try a few gowns, and then came back another day and found my amazing dress! Everyone was so friendly and always made us feel welcome. Such a great experience!! Had an amazing wedding.

I went along with my sister to have my berketex wedding dress alterations done, I found all the staff very kind and helpful, can't wait to go back in may to see my finished dress! Thank you berketex.

Well, what can I say about Berketex, I honestly don't know where to start. I wouldn't normally give a negative reveiw like this but I feel it's my duty to warn others. I went to Berketex on the recommendation of a colleague, after looking at other reviews I was more than a little apprehensive about it but I went anyway. At first I thought the lady that dealt with me was lovely, but she was very insincere and tried to overcompensate by being overly nice. Unfortunately for me it was at Berketex where I found the perfect dress, I can't even begin to describe the level of stress and anxiety I felt after ordering my dress, thankfully I didn't pay their alteration package cost as the charge £200 regardless of what needs doing. I was told there was a 24 week wait on wedding gowns and that i should order in plenty of time. I ordered it in October 2015 for my wedding next month hoping that it would be in with plenty of time. My veil was late by around 8 weeks, after 26 weeks I started to chase them up for my dress, only to be told every time that sometimes they work towards your wedding date and fobbed off. It got to the point where i was ready to contact their head office to see if i could get anywhere with them when my dress finally arrived in store. 7 weeks before my wedding, although on my order form they stated that my wedding was on August 8th, just under two weeks earlier than it actually is so in reality as far as they knew it was only 5 weeks before my wedding. When I went to pick up my dress I tried it on, the lady in the shop told me that it fit like a glove and didn't need altering at all. I, on the other hand, didn't feel comfortable in the dress as I had when I tried the sample one on and something just felt off about the whole thing. I already had someone in line to do any alterations that I needed so I took it to them for a second opinion. When my seamstress tried to fasten the dress it turned out that the modesty panel wouldn't fasten across my back so clearly Berketex had just laced me in without trying to fasten the panel in. This explains why it didn't feel right when I tried it on and it felt too loose on me. There is now less than 4 weeks to go until my wedding and the lady that is doing my alterations is snowed under with weddings and she's still doing everything she can to make my dress perfect. She thinks it will need more alterations after she's adjusted the modesty panels but she's taking it one step at a time. I have every faith now that my dress will be perfect on my big day I'm just glad that I went with my instincts and took it in for a second opinion. I would never recommend Berketex to anyone, planning a wedding is stressful enough without all the added stress and worry that they cause. If you do decide to use Berketex I would advise that you have someone on hand that is prepared to do any alterations you might need at fairly short notice and DO NOT trust the people in the shop if they say your dress is a perfect fit. Berketex only alter one size up or one size down, no more, and I've been told that my alterations will cost less than £200 so please don't pay for the Berketex alteration package.
