Looking at the reviews for the underground room, the same room I stayed in, I'm confused at how petty those people are! If you go into booking a hotel and think you'll be staying in the Ritz, you'll be disappointed! This hotel is a budget friendly and perfectly fine hotel. It was clean, there were no complaints from me at all. The WiFi worked well, the water was hot, the staff preparing in the kitchen were quiet and considerate about the fact there's a room right next door to the kitchen. There was no mold, there was nothing about the hotel that made me think "oh god what have I gotten myself into?!" Aside from the tube and the fact you can hear it, it's a fab little hotel! All the people complaining they had a 'rubbish nights sleep' is an absolute farce. The trains stop after midnight and start again around 5:30/6am. I'm a very very light sleeper and I slept through the morning trains. The breakfast was great, the only reason I couldn't eat much of it was because of a raging hangover. Don't let the rubbish reviews put you off, this is a lovely hotel, the staff are great and it's in such a great location.
As others have said, worst place I’ve ever stayed in, thankfully it was for one night. Basement room may as well be on the tube itself, door rattles with every train. And again the hotel kitchen is closer to the bed than your own bathroom almost which is very very loud from around 6am. If you want to actually sleep in the hotel you book don’t bother. Oh and for the money the room decor and standard was atrocious. I wish Lydia had stated where she had stayed in the past because judging by her standards I want to avoid those places at all costs
After reading reviews such as the rooms being too small and the sound of the tube being very loud, it was hard for me to be optimistic about this hotel. Upon arrival, I actually was surprised at how fine it was and I wanted to look on the bright side of things. The room was not that small, and although we could hear the tube, I did not find it that unbearable. A huge plus was that the staff was very kind and welcoming. I really did want to leave having had a good experience in this hotel. But one thing that made it hard to do so was the musty odor in our room as well as the apparent mold growing on the walls? Now, I can’t really confirm what it is, but it appeared to me to be specks of black mold growing on the walls closest to the windows that did not really seal the room from rain perfectly and on the shower head. With the London weather, it constantly smelled damp and the possible exposure to the mold did not make us feel very well. Although the staff was all wonderful and it was a good location to stay to visit the rest of London, right by the Paddington Station, I think the rooms need to be cleaned more thoroughly.
I will NO RECCOMEND this place. First when we arrive- dusty room, wall is damaged. In the night i hear all what my neighbours do, noisy place. And over 5 minutes you feel metro and hear the noises. We paid 500€ for 3 nights and this is place is not good for this very high price. I say this is the reason why next time i dont want visit London. Only good thing is location.
I got a single room very small and compact as you would expect in London. Very clean, tidy, and quiet. Highly recommendedRooms: 5/5
This is the wors place I have ever been in my adult life. The room was nothing like in the pictures dark, smelly and old and it was extremely noise. Like really extreme as the underground pass literally under the building. The receptionist told me, I could leave the hotel and they would reimburse me, but it never happened. I contacted them, but they have changed their opinion. Just incredible. Don't stay here. They are dishonest. Rooms: Just horrible.
This hotel was the worst experience ever, nothing like the pictures on Booking., totally deceiving, it’s a rip off. The hotel is located a a shady location in front of a low income building projects, dangerous at night time. Advertised with A/C, a “fan”, extremely DIRTY SHOWER, poor customer service, rude staff, smelly, garbage bags at the entrance of the “hotel”. DO NOT BOOK HERE!!!.. I have pictures to prove it!!!.. Totally waste of money and time!!
Basically, worst hotel I’ve ever been in my life. Underground room, below the stairs and next to the kitchen, which at 6am they start to prepare the breakfast for all guests, the smell felt like they were cooking inside the small room. Also you can even feel the tube passing thru the walls, but well the good thing about that is that the tube station is really close to the hotel.
We had a family stay for 2 nights, we were on top floor which was good exercise. Room was nice and clean had everything you needed for a short break. Staff friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was spot on. Will stay again.Rooms: 5/5
I enjoyed my stay here, room was clean and had a high ceiling, the location is great not far from Paddington Station and Hyde Park. There is quite a noise from the passing underground trains but it was bearable. Kitchen staff were particularly warm and accommodating, decent breakfast.
