I would like to share my appreciation for the swimming lessons at Becontree Heath Leisure Centre. My son is currently in Level 3, and his swimming teacher Rachel is absolutely amazing.nnShe teaches every student with great care, patience, and understanding. Her teaching style is very practical, clear, and encouraging, which helps children learn confidently. I really appreciate the way she explains techniques and supports each child according to their needs.nnRachel is a fantastic teacher, and I would highly recommend her to any parent looking for a dedicated and supportive swimming instructor. Thank you for your hard work and commitment!
Extremely disappointed with my experience at Becontree Leisure Centre. From the moment I spoke to the staff, the attitude was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. I calmly explained my situation and tried to sort things out respectfully, but instead of listening or showing any understanding, they chose to ignore what I was saying entirely. It honestly felt like they did not care at all and just wanted to brush me off as quickly as possible.nnThe lack of manners and basic customer service was shocking. Staff were speaking with attitude, showing no patience, and making me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome the entire time. As a paying customer, I expected at least a bit of respect and professionalism, but unfortunately that was nowhere to be seen.nnA leisure centre should be a welcoming environment where staff are helpful and approachable, but this experience was the complete opposite. I left feeling frustrated, ignored, and genuinely disappointed by how badly the situation was handled. Management seriously needs to improve the behaviour and training of staff because the way customers are treated here is unacceptable. Definitely not a place I would recommend after this experience.
This center is actually really filthy. But people have been complaining about the cleanliness of the place for years and they dont seem to care? The changing rooms smelled like faeces and the toilets were filthy as well. Most of the lockers are broken and there always seems to be rubbish all over the floor and in the changing rooms. Theres always at least one shower that doesnt work. There are dirty nappies left on the benches in the changing cubicles. My 4 year old stepped on someone's dirty bloody bandage whilst walking to the pool.. the pool itself is colder then any other everyone active pool we have been to. I know it cant be too warm but its freezing. A few years ago the pool itself used to be completely open with just a few lanes sectioned off. Now the pool seems to be sectioned off into small squares which are all overfilled with people. It was far too crowded and me and my children were constantly hit, bumped into, smacked and my husband was even hit by someone's ball twice. You definatley cant 'swim' here as theres too many people and the lanes were overfilled too. Theres still no activity in this pool for children like fountains or slides, which would make this place a lot nicer. There was a lot of dirt and debris at the bottom of the water too. Ive literally never seen a single person cleaning in this place. We come to this center because it is a 2 minute walk from our home, so its very easy to get to, but unfortunately the lack of care for maintenance as well as hygiene is just gross and its upsetting and disappointing that despite numerous reviews and complaints, they dont seem to care enough to change it? Its getting worse over the years too rather then getting better. I think its time for us to start making the bus journey to other pools.
I attend Zumba on Fridays at midday.nTh instructor is amazing and her name is Vera Vera is a very skilled professional and passionate at what she does. Her classes brings me so much joy. Truly, Vera you are such a beautiful soul. Keep spreading that joy through your choice of music and love for dance. I appreciate younLove you girl.
I had a very disappointing experience at Becontree Heath Leisure Centre.nAfter attending a Pilates class, I briefly used an empty room for a short workout as the main gym was very crowded. A staff member informed me this was not allowed, and I immediately apologized and complied.nHowever, I later felt I was being repeatedly approached and spoken to in a confrontational manner while simply trying to use the facilities as a member. I also went to sit in the pool viewing area briefly to make a quiet phone call, where only one other person was present at the time. This added to my feeling of being closely monitored during my visit.nAs a paying member, I expect respectful and professional communication from staff. Unfortunately, this experience has affected my confidence in using the center again.nnI hope this feedback helps improve staff interaction and member experience going forward.nnUpdate:nFollowing the response to my review, I submitted a detailed enquiry through the contact form as requested. Unfortunately, I have still not received any response from management regarding the incident.nWhat disappoints me most is not only the experience itself but also the lack of follow-up. Since that day, I have not felt comfortable returning to the centre despite continuing to pay for my membership, and I have therefore not been using the facilities.nAs a paying member, I expected my concerns to be taken seriously and for someone to contact me to discuss the matter. Unfortunately, due to both the experience and the lack of response afterwards, I am now considering cancelling my membership.nI hope management will review this situation and provide a response.
