Beacon Park is a wonderful, well looked after part of Lichfield. Beautiful well maintained flower beds, a little fountain, and many other attractions available. The park has also included in it a golf course, crazy golf, a boating lake, football pitches and tennis courts. Other future attractions are in the pipeline too. There are two little cafés, and two lots of public toilets available too. The park is very popular with families, dog walkers and joggers. There is a lovely dog free play area for children, which attracts families, and is often quite busy. Especially at weekends and school holiday time. There are numerous events in the park throughout the year. Cars in The Park, Proms in the Park, Lichfield 10k Run, and the Saturday Park Run to name a few. Great views of Lichfield's three spired Cathedral can be seen from most of the park, offering great views. If you ever visit Lichfield, be sure to include a walk through Beacon Park. Beautiful no matter what time of year, or weather.
A lovely well kept park with plenty of benches to sit down. Also has modern toilets & changing facilities just across a bridge to the children's play Area. Nearby, there's also a cafe and you can walk through to & from Morrison's car park.
It was raining quite heavily and it was a pretty miserable day. I think it's possible that this isn't always the case in Beacon Park, however I may be wrong. Perhaps there's some fluke geographical structure which determines foul weather at all times. I tried to take refuge in a dinky little café near the road but it was shut, and it appeared that it had been for some time. We're talking weeks or months. I normally make some outrageous claim for parks like this but it's getting late and I've other stuff to do. Insert your own tall story, see if you can make yourself laugh. Works for me.
Beautiful park. A credit to Lichfield. Has everything. Playground for kids, tennis courts, bowls and stunning views of the cathedral. Flower beds well planted and maintained. In summary the best municipal park in our area
Beacon Park, nestled in the heart of Lichfield, is a tranquil gem for the locals. The park spans a generous area, providing ample space for cycling, walking, and dog walking. Families will appreciate the large play area, complete with swings, climbing equipment, play logs, and various play equipment.nFor sports enthusiasts, there are well maintained tennis courts available.nnOne of the park's highlights is its charming small lake, offering picturesque views of the nearby cathedral, adding to the serene ambiance. It can be quite tranquil during quieter times, making it a pleasant spot for relaxation, it might not be worth a special trip for visitors from afar. However, for locals, Beacon Park is a lovely and convenient place.
