We were a family party of 17 staying over the weekend. The hotel represents good value for money considering the facilities provided: gym, jacuzzi, steam room, swimming pool and nightly entertainment. Our rooms were spotlessly clean as was the pool and changing areas even though the single rooms have yet to be refurbished. The food was OK and the breakfasts were substantial. The staff were friendly and helpful especially Julia in the bar and Daniel in the restaurant. I would stay again as it is very conveniently placed and good value although if you expect haute cuisine then you should consider going elsewhere (and pay the subsequent prices).

Our second visit to this old hotel. The manager and staff are welcoming and friendly. As with all the Shearings hotels we have stayed at it is in need of some tlc however to say it has a pool two gyms steam room sauna and Jacuzzi to use it is good value for money. The big let down for us were the evening meals. No need for fancy menus just provide good simple meals with freshly prepared veg and served hot. Having said all that we will stay there again. Look out for Emily in the bar she makes the visit so worthwhile.

Just had Easter Sunday lunch with the family. The meal was delicious. Staff very friendly. We will be back. Thank you

Really good hotel needs a refurbish in places but it was clean staff were great food was OK entertainment was good pool is small so is the gym bed was comfy room was warm and comfortable we had a lovely stay
