Fabulous care I had when I broke my leg at Bassetlaw . Went to A&E was seen and X-rays and pot all within 2 hours. Every visit since the break for x rays and to see a consultant and the appointment was very professional and took about 1 hour from start to finish. All the staff are very informative and caring too.
Had to take my Aunty to A&E the receptionist was very polite, kind and professional. Dr Sedze was very kind understanding and honest. He has a lovely natural way of putting you at ease when you are scared and tells you what is happening and why.nCan not fault the service and staff. Thank you all so much.
Was admitted on 21/02/25 onto ward B6 for a hip replacement. Cannot praise the hospital or the staff enough. From the cleaners to the consultants and everyone in between they’ve all been fabulous. Can’t do enough for you! Thankyou all of you for the wonderful care and support I’ve received
Had shoulder replacement on 24/3/25. I have a severe phobia of hospitals having had previous bad experiences. First time at BL - Checked into ward ESSU and the two ladies who looked after me Yvonne and Serena were excellent. They put me at ease and helped lower my BP !! Serena escorted me to theatre and waited till I was “knocked out”, per my request. I then had overnight in ward B5, being looked after by Charity and her team .. overall Bassetlaw in my opinion can teach DRI a thing or two about all ! Apart from the 3 ladies mentioned, all other staff I had dealings with on the two wards were excellent - Professional and Friendly ! Would not hesitate going there again if needed ! Thank you - Ray D
Attended A&E recently via ambulance. Ambulance staff brilliant but when being seen in A&E I was fobbed off with having a urine infection when I had severe pain all down my leg and lower back. They didn’t listen to me when telling me that I had numbness as well as pain from my lower back all way down my leg. Tried sending me home with just antibiotics and no painkillers to help me. Found out later from docs I didn’t have a urine infection at all and even when I asked could that cause this kind of pain n numbness I got a vague answer. Ended up back my doctors and send urgently to A&E and was diagnosed with cauda Equina which could result in me not being able to go toilet normally for rest of my life. Sent for emergency surgery at Sheffield. I get people get misdiagnosed but should at least be listened too. I felt like I was being stupid for being in there with back pain. Even one of nurses say back pain won’t just disappear like that making me feel like a fool but I’ve had back pain before and this pain was something I couldn’t cope with.
