Went here because I couldn’t find what I was looking for in other shops in Birmingham, and I found everything I wanted here! The selection of fabrics is just immense. Dropped a star because the staff aren’t the friendliest here compared to elsewhere

I needed inner lining fabric for a leather jacket.  I hadn’t got a clue what type of fabric I needed. A friend recommended Barry’s Fabrics.  When I visited Barry’s Fabrics, the lady I spoke to, couldn’t be more helpful sorry for not asking her name, otherwise I would have mentioned her by name, she was brilliant. I explained what I needed and she showed me the fabric types various colours & designs that met my needs. I  decided upon one.  The cost was very reasonable, unfortunately I can’t remember what the cost was but I was surprised at how good the value was.  Also, when I mentioned that I had been searching for someone to replace my inner lining of my leather jacket, she showed me a notice board inside the store, where various people leave their details and the services they offer. Had my friend not recommended someone else, I would have called the contact number I got from Barry’s Fabrics.  I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Convenient for getting fabrics for costume making/cosplay. They have a large selection of different fabrics at different price points. I would ignore the reviews saying the staff are rude. They’re polite and let you look round freely. We’ve been four times now.

Best experience in Brimingham honestly!! The workers are very helpful and friendly and they have so many fabrics to chose from! As a uni student I would recommend this shop so much!

2 stars as it has parking right outside and a wide selection of fabrics but it’s a big shame that the customer service is so abysmal.  They make you feel so unwelcome and burdensome if you ask questions which is such a bizarre attitude to have as customers keep businesses running.  Maybe some re training is required as clearly others feel the exact same.

Staff were very friendly and helped me pick out good fabrics and recommend some sewing tips. Really lovely

Barry's is a reason for all people who love sewing and fabric choices to stop shopping blindfolded online. For quilters, Barry's is a physical shop with all the overheads and staff costs that are involved with running a business. Yet still, you can buy a metre of 100% cotton name brand fabric for less than the cost of two fat quarters of the same fabric sold by so many online only fabric retailers. I couldn't believe it. There are lots of rolls of Rose and Hubble as well as many others. It's time to get out and checkout the huge variety in Barry's. You can see and TOUCH the fabric - no more guess work. Loads of other bargain fabrics including 100% cotton. The staff are knowledgeable and really so helpful too. Another gem in Birmingham.

Very pleased with their customer service. Tina attended to us and took her time to find out materials that matched my dresses and she was very patient. Came out very happy with my friend! They have such a large variety of materials too at good prices! Excellent  customer service! Would recommend to anyone.
