Story

The clue is in the name, as they say - and Barolo Grill is no exception. We pride ourselves on our top quality Scottish steaks, meats and seafood, cooked to perfection, and served with a contemporary Italian touch. Our extensive wine list offers the best in Italian varietals, and of course a superb selection of Barolo wines.

Situated on Mitchell St, Barolo Grill is two minutes walk from Central Station, Queen Street Station and the Buchanan St Underground Station. Ideal for a business lunch in one of our comfortable booths, celebrations and large parties, graduations and even just to take the weight off your feet while shopping with a well earned glass of Prosecco.

We also specialise in superb focaccia and pizza, baked in our traditional Italian pizza oven and topped with fresh ingredients.

Really affordable and delicious Italian food. Came here for dinner and was blown away. My partner had a Lamb ragu that was so mind blowing good. Even the basic pasta was great. Definitely a must visit if you want great food at a great price. The staff were also absolutely lovely and the banter was greatFood: 4/5
Forget about any other place for a traditional Scottish breakfast! Even the tomatoes are standout! The procurer and kitchen deserve kudos! Fresh. Tasty. Well prepared. One bite of the mushroom and I was amazed. A mushroom? But it was tastier than any in memory. The tomato was the best tasted in all our meals in Scotland. The black pudding, same. Even the bacon was great. Not too salty as many breakfasts have. Service was great. Easy. Attentive. The place is very comfortable. Lots of cushioned booths throughout. Booths are a bit short and a bit low for this big framed curmudgeon. A wide variety of pro-coffee drinks available They are served in clear glass, not my favorite.
Barolo was our 2nd choice restaurant of the evening. Originally called into Sugo, but there was a significant wait time, and it appeared to be "lively," to say the least. Barolo, on the other hand, was nice and quiet and expressed an authentic Italian atmosphere. Nice little seating booths. Service was friendly & attentive. The food, when served, was very flavoursome, but we thought the portion sizes could have been more plentiful. Surprisingly we didn't see any olives on the antipasti selection. Nor when asked if we wanted black pepper was there the offer of parmesan.
We came here after we arrived Glasgow by train at around 9.45am. We had a great Scottish breakfast and an Italian Al Forno. The restaurant is located on an alley but close to Queen Street station. The ambience was very pleasant and the guests and staffs were all very polite.Food: 5/5
Visited this restaurant last night. I want to give this a 5 star however, I’m giving it 4 stars because it took about 15 mins for our drinks to arrive after we ordered them - bear in mind that it wasn’t super busy so slightly disappointed by the slow service. As a waitress myself, I appreciate when drinks come out fast as it really sets a nice atmosphere for the night. The music was also too loud, and slightly off-putting as it was difficult to hear everyone outside of the music playing. Apart from that, the food was delicious and they very accommodating to gluten free dietary requirements as they had a separate gluten-free menu with plenty of amazing options. I didn’t catch their name, but our server was lovely. They were super attentive and very friendly. Would come back again :
Lasagna carbonara was just filled with too much cheese. Cheese was 60-70% more than the lasagne itself. Gamberi pasta and calamari were nice. Drinks are fantastic. Service was not that quick and efficient. Had a hard time calling the staff’s attention. Staff were not attentive.Food: 4/5
I think the food in this place needs to be talked about more because it was excellent Totally enjoyed the portion size and Taste of the food. The ambience was very elegant as well.
I had the new Ragu dish and it was stunning!! One of the best meals I've had in a long time and the focaccia is well worth ordering, works beautifully with the starter and the main. I've been before and will be here again!!Food: 4/5
Went for a meal, 2 out of 3 of the meals came with hair clearly in and on the food. These got sent back and replaced giving benefit of doubt the FRESH meal had hairs in it AGAIN. Staff were not overly apologetic. Would have expected full bill to be cleared but we still had to pay for our half drank soft drinks. Absolutely disgusting would not recommend and will not be back!!
What a lovely place! My husband and I went there a few months ago and tonight we took our friends there because it's absolutely worth it. The place is so nice and cozy, it may sound daft but the lights it's just perfect, not so bright to make you feel uncomfortable nor too dull you can't read the menu, creating the perfect atmosphere. The food is incredibly good! Flavourful but not overpowering and fresh. All the staff is friendly, helpful and professional, especially Matteo. We love this restaurant and it's definitely raising the bar for all the other Italian places in town
