Extremely rude shop assistant in the kids shop. I had a bag of toys to donate. I was told in the Barnados further down on the High Street to drop the toys off at the Barnados kids store. My daughter and I walked to the shop only for the shop assistant to look up and declare that they were not taking anymore toys. He then looked down and ignored us, making no acknowledgement of thanks for attempting to make a donation. By contrast we went further up to St Marys Hospice. She also said they were full but was very apologetic and signposted us to other charity shops including Barnados. As much as I admire and will continue to support the charity the miserable individual is a poor representation of the charity. Terrible customer service hence the two stars.
I usually have a great experience in this charity however today I noticed big collections of dust forming underneath the clothes rails, right next to newborn baby baskets. The elderly gentleman working there today asked me to remove my son away from toys he’s 2 years old and my son couldn’t understand why he wasn’t allowed to play with them. Finally I noticed that some of the prices had increased recently, £3 for a newborn baby-grow seems expensive compared to what I usually see on the price tag . Cleanliness, customer service and pricing needs to be improved.
Excellent shop! The place to go . Lovely staff and great items !
Often feel hurried along here, especially if I go in 30 mins before closing. A smile from staff wouldn't hurt either...
In this shop today spent 12.50 on clothes then my granddaughter spotted a toy and then we saw kids fishing nets priced at 2.00 each he puts them through the Till now coming up with a new price of 2.75 each x I refused to pay this as false advertising x not right
Never open. Today’s feeble excuse: closed early due to weather. Currently stood outside in glorious winder sunshine.
Amazing shop with brilliant items, I am always there finding new things. Manager is very helpful and always ready to help you. 5* store.
Good selection of kids clothes and toys, some new things too. Currently accepting donations.
Great clothes for little ones making baby life alot more affordable.
I'm giving this 5 stars to counter the utterly ridiculous 1* review. The fact this person feels there are too many charity shops shouldn't reflect on the charity and the shop itself.
