Camped at Barn Farm after seeing lots of reviews describing it as a great campsite. And we have to agree. Plots were spacious, facilities clean, shop well stocked and staff friendly.nThe campsite is in a great location for local walks, there is a footpath straight off the site to the nine ladies stone circle and the rowtor rocks and druid caves are only a short walk away
Lovely campsite but we got woken up at 6:30am on a Saturday by someone screaming on loudspeakers I guess there was an event, but no one made us aware. They woke everyone up at 6:30 and then played really loud music until 7, with groups of people cheering and whooping. Don’t appreciate having to listen to all of The Macarena at 6:30
As said before the fields are quite steep you’ll be lucky if you find a semi flat patchnThe owners dog is allowed off it’s lead and I caught it doing it’s business on the grass where a family was camping only one night beforenPeacocks will wake you up about 6am dailynIt’s a bit far away from anything really interesting.nWon’t be staying again better to stay closer to Peak District
Beautiful campsite with excellent facilities. Toilets and showers were very clean and well maintained. The resident peacocks provide a unique feel to it too.
Lovely campsite and the manager/reception lady is absolutely lovely.nnLost review marks because of an event that woke us up and 6am. Loud music and shouting down the microphone. My kids were woken up by the music and you can imagine how that went down.nnAlso appears that the owners dog has free rain and poo was everywhere on our pitch to start. Cleaned it up but I had to shoo him away again. Returned back from a walk and he has pooed again and I'm our awning nnReally sad because lovely site but ruined picnic blanket and shitty shoes are not great!nnAlso as others have said only seems to be the one poor lady running things so shop is never properly open and hard to find someone to ask about anything if she's not about bless her!
