I tried to buy a property through this agent and had quite an unpleasant experience. We were initially shown round the property by a sales person who encouraged us to put in a really low offer, in subsequent calls this person no longer worked for the company. After that point, Chris dealt with me, and I felt bullied by him into constantly upping my offer by small amounts. They played a lot of games and tactics and I felt harassed and bullied. When they felt they had pushed me past my limit I was handed over to a junior administrator. 

I felt really taken for a ride, we loved the property and had a maximum price in mind, which was what the property sold for (£20k under asking price, to someone else), but because we'd been encouraged by Barker & Bass to offer a significantly low offer (£40k under asking price) we were really messed around, and the seller probably felt pretty put out too! If they'd cut the games and not tried to play with us, we would have offered the sale price straight up and we all could've gone home happy. 

As it is, I was left with the impression that Barker & Bass is run by young, inexperienced sales professionals, who don't mind bullying buyers into bidding wars, in order to look good for their clients. My advice? Don't buy or sell through this company. Go somewhere to someone who doesn't play games, and treats buyers with respect (because they'll be the ones managing your tenants too if you're buying to let).

Thoroughly recommend Barker & Smart for a most professional, prompt and highly efficient service (and especially as they went way above and beyond any of my very high expectations!). So thanks again for all your help and support guys, as your assistance was very much appreciated.

I can not thank Chris and his Team enough.   They really do look after you.  I've been a Tennant for 2years and the flat im currently living in got sold to a private buyer.  These guys found me another property.  Fantastic work guys i can not thank you enough. Lorraine.

Very horrible set of individuals. Bullies! Always think things have to go their way, else it's no way. They lie a lot and are extremely unprofessional. Loathe the day I ever met them. Do not use them! You will be highly disappointed. Band of liars!
