the staff have always been pleasant and helpful. the self service machines are excellent, time savers and I have always had help if needed.. no complaints whatsoever.. apart from the closing my own local bank :(  but that's nothing to do with the staff.. 5* service

I went in to Barclays Bank Accrington branch last week Wednesday 12/04/2017 to draw my money. I was not very happy with the quality of service I had. I was very upset with one of the staff member.
She called Catherine, and she works in financial adviser department.
Well first, I told her that I was away from the U.K. for 3 years. My debit card has already expired. Although, I have a new one but I have not use it for a long time, so, I forgot my PIN number.
I told Catherine that I have all my bank statements and any other valid evidence to provide.
She had checked on line for rules and bank regulations. And she had been talking to someone on the phone. Later she turn to me and say that there's absolutely nothing she can do to help because I failed to provide valid proof of evidence. 
Then I asked..., is my passport, marriage certificate and banks statements are not valid?!!! The new debit card with my picture in it along with my passport, obviously shows that I am one person that owns the acct.
I don't know what her problem was, but she didn't want to deal with me nor have any interest to help me at all. She was very rude, nasty and her behavior is unacceptable. I think she very unkind to other individuals. 
She didn't even apologize.
I have been a regular client in Barcklays for 16/17 years but now I am completely dissapointed and disgusted by the poor service. I have finally closed my account and hopefully no one else out there would experienced what I have been through. So I'll give ZERO for the poor service.
