THE WORST BANK EVER - I have had trouble with Barclays for decades but not usually in their branch as I rarely go in one. This branch though is the pits. They last time I deposited a cheque through the letterbox as they instructed me to do and they lost it. It was in an envelope with a paying in slip but they way they handled it was an utter disgrace. This time, my wife paid in a birthday cheque from my mother in law for £100 through their automated cheque paying in machine. Their was a member of staff their who actually took it from her and put it through herself. My wife came back and gave me the receipt, with a little copy of the cheque. A few days later I checked online and the cheque was there credited to my account. Except that immediately below was a debit for £100 with the notice ERROR, Apologies! I made a formal complaint, entitled ANOTHER COMPLAINT. Barclays have recently excelled their arrogance and rudeness with their reply "What do you want us to do!" and "We are not going to treat this as a complaint until it has been investigated". They said they'd get back to me once they had spoken to the branch. That was in October 2017, it's now 2018 !. My mother in law confirmed the money was taken from her account. In order to take the matter to the Ombusman I have to first confirm that I have waited six weeks and have been through the Barclays complaints procedure. But Barclays stole my money and refused to treat my complaint as a complaint! CROOKS!

I deposited cash at Barclay's Windsor branch last Saturday using their new self-service machines. The machine malfunctioned and stalled during the transaction. The staff managed to retrieve some of my cash by hand and told me they would would contact me Monday morning when they had opened the machine and got the rest. It's now Monday evening and I have had NO contact from the branch. Not having a safe way to deposit money or follow-up on faults with your own systems can only be bad banking practices. What's more frustrating, is the staff that were there informed me that the self-service machines were malfunctioning that day with other customers. Richard

A slightly odd, modern branch where the staff have been replaced by automated terminals for the most part. We had to update an address but the staff on duty had some trouble working it out so it took a bit longer than it really sounds have.
