Lovely place for dine in ."Had a fantastic dining experience. The area is absolutely charming, nestled in the inner city with a lovely smaller canal running nearby, adding to the serene and cozy ambiance. The perfect spot for a relaxed meal with beautiful surroundings. Highly recommend!"Food: 4/5
Outdoor area is good on a sunny day, would never go and sit inside as it is like a horrible nightclub in there. Inch’s cider on draft is a plus. Canal side views nice. Some proper posers will be here though.
Booked the Snug for my 30th Birthday party. Lauren, the event manager, was amazing from start to finish. I had asked for a vegetarian/vegan buffet for the event, and the team went above and beyond, two weeks later I still have people talking to me about the falafel wraps and bean burgers! The space was set up for us and it was so beautiful, the balloon arch was put together for us and the tables were set up. I don’t have many photos because we had such a fantastic time it was the lad thing on my mind! I’d happily book Barca again in future for any events I had on, it was a great space, a fantastic team, and an amazing location!
Booked a wedding here for May, poor communication throughout including two points of contact leaving without informing us. They also did not turn up to a meeting in which we took annual leave. 2 weeks before our wedding, they told us the renovations we were not aware of those when booking were not ready and initially not offering any alternative when told this. When they did offer an alternative it was not a like for like and not acceptable as we had viewed the rooms previously. This is despite our communication that we would only proceed with the renovation works complete, to which they assured us they would be. They offered a full refund in writing twice, and then took this back 2 days before our wedding which we had to rearrange on short notice. If they could reply to our solicitors emails that would be greatly appreciated to give details to take this further. Would never recommend this place, service is atrocious and they should be ashamed .
Terrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs!!!! This is the worst place I've encountered in the UK! If you are looking to book an event/ceremony, this is the most terrible place to do it. If you scroll down the reviews, you’ll see that tons of customers had similarly bad experiences, not just me. Be carefully! My partner and I tried to book a room with Barca for our ceremony, but the service was terrible. Communication was sp poor from the start. We initially asked for a room for one hour, and they quoted us £1,000, which seemed outrageous. However, we decided to proceed as it was the location we wanted. After agreeing to the £1,000, they suddenly changed the price to £7,000 for one hour! This is absolutely ridiculous and feels like a scam. The contact person, Vicky, was extremely poor at communicating. She only mentioned a minimum requirement of 30 people after they increased the price to £7,000. In my opinion, this is the worst place to get married in the world. If you want to experience frustration and disappointment on your special day, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. ‍‍ Edit: It is such a joke to see the reply ,well I think action speaks louder , the altitude…well that is how you guys treat consumers normally I guess , seriously rude ps: please take a look at the reviews for your venue, can’t you just see what the other customers were saying???
Never go back to this place. We been there 2h prior Euro final, the manager gave us a table and said it's fine to seat. 30 mins before the match started, he actually kicked us out. Also dirty toilet and horrible staff attitude. Avoid this place. There are so many better places around
Haven't tried the food, but the bar staff were friendly and attentive. Sat out for a few hours in the outdoor terrace with several drinks and a lovely atmosphere and music.Service: 5/5
Horrible staff, they don't know how to make a reservation. They sat us at the table with the TV close to us, and right before the game to start, one guy who worked there is coming to us with an attitude that we needed to move or leave. Like, what's wrong with you, dude? Talk nice and apologise to us, and then we talk nice, but no, he chose violence. Dromader
There are some serious personality disorders amongst the management in this place, extremely sociopathic in their communication and general approachability. My partner and I were interested in booking a civil partnership ceremony and dealt with Vicky Sales, Events & Marketing Manager. Nothing major planned, just us and a couple of friends. We were told that there is a flat rate of £1000, which we tried to negotiate given how small we wanted to keep things. I even out of desperation walked into the venue to talk to Vicky in person to see whether anything could be done on the price and was advised by Vicky that she would speak with the owner and see whether there was anything that can be done. I chased her on email the next day to which she replied with "I already told you on email we can't do anything" - referring to an email that had been sent before i went in person to see her before she assured me she would speak with the owner - red flag number 1, dishonesty. There was no room for negotiation at the end of the day, which was absolutely fine by us; hey, it's your venue at the end of the day, so your rules. We got back to Vicky to say that we were happy to pay the £1000. She replied to us to say "As mentioned previously in my emails, the owner has said this is something we could not do at the venue even at the £1000 with the short notice and the circumstances they would not feel comfortable to accommodate the booking." This is a flat out lie, she never said they were uncomfortable hosting, she said we would need to pay £1000. Vicky clearly doesn't realise that lying in writing does her no favours whatsoever. Vicky clearly doesn't realise that lying to prospective clients, whilst being otherwise generally rude and unapproachable, will lead to negative feedback such as this. I for one agree with every other 1-star review for Barca in Google Reviews when it comes to booking the venue for weddings and parties, and it wouldn't surprise me if Vicky is the reason why. EDIT: my partner advised that she spoke to the venue on the phone. Apparently they changed the goalposts again and said they would now need £7000. These guys are clearly the lowest of the low in their profiteering methods, clearly thought they could pull a fast one. Good luck trying to find someone willing to pay £7k for your stinky, unclean venue read the other reviews, they're accurate. EDIT 2: I have the full correspondence in writing and can share it with whoever wants to see it, obviously with it not being commercial and as an individual I have absolutely no obligation to follow GDPR. What Barca have replied with is an outright lie, we were told the minimum spend would be £1,000 all on email and it was only when we agreed that price that we were told it would cost £7000 over the phone. For Barca to respond in the unprofessional and defensive manner in which they have should provide you with all the warning you need :
Nasty staff... Their manager forgot to put the reservation sign on the table we picked 2 hours prior to the Euro final. Then, he approached us with a horrible attitude, saying that we either had to move or leave as someone else was expecting the table. No wonder their overall reviews are bad...Service: 1/5
