Situated in the centre of Uplands, the recently opened St James Bar is a welcome addition for anyone looking for something with a bit more effort put into the look and feel of the place than the average pub. If you can imagine a bar designed by Tim Burton or a private members club where vampires like to hang out you'll get the idea. They've just started doing food too. Nice food. Really nice food. Stepping through the door is like stepping out of Swansea and into luxury, if only for a while.

Beautiful bar with Victorian-inspired design. Very friendly bartender who went out of her way to make me an off-menu drink. The only suggestion is that they don't need the recessed spotlights overhead, as they ruined the warmth of the decor and wall/table lighting.

Loved the interior. It was quiet when we arrived, but soon filled up.Great atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

Visted last nite for the first time. Really nice place to go looks fab inside. Bar staff very friendly. Unfortunately from the time we arrived around 8 ish the owner was staggering around drunk and at one stage ended up flat on her back in the floor and had to be picked up by her friends.

Fantastic!! The place, decor, staff, cocktails and I bet the food will be when it starts. It's a great place anytime of day. Note to other Bars in the area...This is how you run a bar.
